The reason for the passport with your new married name is because when they issue the VISA it will be in the name of what ever is on your passport. To avoid further confusion like using multiple names foreign wives should have there passports reflect their new married name. The name that they intend to use in the future... I am having my wife get her's renewed now even though she has several years left on her existing one.

UPDATE!! I just got the second bill invoiced!! the 404 dollars!! check your fee portal!! I guess that means that DS-3032 is accepted?? and now I can send I-864 and DS-230 together??? Teya hope you are around!!!

My hubby just received the DS-3032 confirmation email!!! HURRAY!!! They acknowledge that I am his choice of agent!! Yes!

God is amazing and nothing is impossible for HIM!

IF you are going to send both your packages in at the same time. I recommend that you print out each Cover Sheet that you got with the corresponding invoice and attach that one to the appropriate package. I dont know if these are the same or not but I would not risk it by sending one Cover Sheet in for both packages... Then go celebrate by getting something special for yourself and wait for your packages to be mailed to the EMBASSY!!!

Yes arent you happy!! I am sending I-864 tomorrow morning next day and sending the DS-230 as soon as I get the paid invoice notice! The email worked!! so glad, I was getting worried there for a second!

I m from gujarat and i went to ahmedabad passport office yesterday to get the PCC.

First of all they did not let me in without the checklist, when i showed them the document cover sheet which gets generated after we paid the AOS fee bill they let me in. After that i stood in the freaking line for like 45 mins. then when my turn came they told me to get my husband's name in my passport that is to make a new passport in itself. what the heck is that ??

Then they took fees of 2800 rs for tatkal passport and 300 for PCC they have told that i will get both the new passport and the PCC in that in 4-5 days.

So finally i m over with this hoping to get my passport and pcc by saturday. My husband is reaching India on 21st so crossing my fingers that our DS-230 bill is available to be paid by then and i can send all the contents of the DS-230 packet to my husband so that the package can be sent to NVC before he is in India.

good to hear they let you in...

but damnit!! a new passport just bcs it didnt have ur spouse name on it?! had u given ur earlier passport copy to USCIS? now if ur passport is newly issued, PCC from local police station is irrelevant..

YES Emily, Hopefully things go well for everyone. Dont Leave one person behind right.haha!!

I have been watching a New Reality TV program. Its about a group of people who are put into an artificial situation down in Louisiana with minimum resources, food or water. This is to simulate how we would do as a people in the even of some major catastrophe. Then they are ask to survive as a group. Of course they are also put in situation that make them stress, create, learn and deal with strangers from different backgrounds on a daily basis. They also are exposed to outside influences... Well perhaps others have seen this program also. I think we have been mentally engaged in a similar thing on this site. At first we were individually trying to figure out what we needed to do. Then we started ease dropping on others chats then slowly engaging ourselves. Now we are fully engaged and are almost a community although we have never met and would not recognize each other if we happened to accidentally meet. My Thanks to all of you who have advise, comforted and jokes with me over these past 5+ months. Your assistance made the Journey more pleasurable and definitely more memorable that if I had taken this journey alone. I hope I was able to make some small contribution to the process. This is not good bye folks. This is just saying THANK YOU to ALL.
