:bonk: Okay I send in my OAS package USPS Priority Mail on AUG 5 and decide to check to see if it was delivered. Here is the response I saw...

" We attempted to deliver your item at 11:42 am on August 08, 2010 in PORTSMOUTH, NH 03801 and a notice was left. You may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice, go to www.usps.com/redelivery, or call 800-ASK-USPS to arrange for redelivery. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Detailed Results:

:bonk::bonk::bonk: #######!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I shot off a complaint right away to the USPS. First off Why in heaven would they deliver something on Aug 8th? Thats Sunday down here in TN and I think its Sunday in NH also. Then I see that they expect someone to email them or pick it up or they send it back to me!! In 15 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:angry::angry: Well the complaint I send in ask for someone to call me... Lets see what happens.

I wouldn't worry too much about it because I have dealt with the wonderful (said sarcastically) USPS quite a few times and I have received that same info when i tried to track my packets. They always end up delivering them. Next time you send anything to them spend a bit more and use UPS. You will not encounter this issue with them; at least I haven't.

Mrs. Thomas

NVC:

02-25-2010 : Received NVC case number, but NVC is closed, so I can't give an operator our emails. :-(

02-27-2010 : Jumped the gun and emailed the VJ version of the DS 3032. Who knows what will happen :-)

03-11-2010 : Both AOS + IV showed paid but processed on 03-05-2010 :-)

03-12-2010 : Mailed AOS packet. Waiting on my procrastinating hubby to send me his IV docs :-(

03-15-2010 : AOS signed for by St. Laurent at 10:03 a.m.

07-19-2010 : Received IV documents from hubby (Finally)

07-20-2010 : Mailed IV packet

07-21-2010 : IV Packet signed for by Peters at 10:15 a.m. (St. Laurent and Desmond are probably on vacation lol)

I dont know what it typically takes to send a regular mail across the US . It use to take about 3 days... Well I am guessing we are not making that happen anymore because technology has gotten in the way... Yes your right Fed X and UPS are faster because they are not government run. Government always cost more, takes longer and does a poor job. Thats just the truth in the world we live in. YEah I hope tomorrow.

I cant Blame it on Bush. I am from TN and without TN there would be no Texas... SO that makes Tx our child... I can't do it....:blush::P

The postal service is crying for loss of business because of the Internet. Then continue to raise the price of postage and force us to take all the bulk mail that they literally shove into our mail boxes. They get better benefits than the private sector and are there to do a very important job. We will see what up today. Cause if they dont call me and explain I will be calling them...

Tom don't worry about it. Exactly the same thing happened to us last year. I panicked when I read the same notice when trying to track my package. I really didn't think NVC would arrange for redelivery. However the Monday morning I checked the status again and it was received and signed for. I'm sure all will be fine. This is a very common occurrence.

Looks like we are step for step KB. Atleast they didnt make two trips... Did you get your DS3032 sent in If so did you get it receipt accepted. I am waiting for my IV Invoice so I can pay and move on with sending in my IV DS 230 pkg. We or she emailed it to the NVC on the 4th of Aug but I have only received an auto response. When I called They were no real help and basically said wait... Then I ask a question about my wife's Passport because it still in her Maiden name. She is getting it change so the lady ask me how long will it take to get her new one and I told her well she has to go through a government also so I would guess 6 to 8 weeks...haha

When next you send something -

pay attention to the address and 'signature needed or not' for that type of postal service.

need a signature? send it to the courier address.

don't need a signature? send it to the USPS address.

signature confirmation messes up lots of people, they go nuts, it's really messy.

The 'postal address' rarely has a human waiting to sign slips, as well.

The 'courier address' always has a human waiting to sign slips, when the office is open.

Good to know it made it in - but do, please, refactor your plan for the IV/DS-230 shipment, yes?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I m using google chrome. But no option comes of providing those details !! What do i do ?

google chrome is a PITA for paying online.

Suggest you switch to Internet Explorer 8 or Opera 10.x

if you can't install those on yer puter, go to a library or Kinko's Fedex Office, use IE there.

Mumbai consulate states only the passport PCC is required and not the district PCC if they have renewed their passport within 6 months, which my wife has. Of course my wife doesnt listen to me and still wants to get both. Guess why not, she can get both at the same time after we get the RFE letter.

The '6 months ends' on interview day - so be fore-warned, ah?

The '6 months ends' on interview day - so be fore-warned, ah?

Didnt know that, thanks for the heads-up! Guess we will be getting the local PCC as well. :)

Sure wont be telling my wife that she was right in wanting to get the local PCC.

Thanks for the advice Darnell... Yes I will, should I ever get a Invoice...

Didn't you say the IV fee bill was available to be paid today, on the fee payment portal? Perhaps I'm confused :D

Bascially, after it's paid, wait 1 to 5 days, checking the portal every day (updates on the payment portal at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, EST, daily)

then

when the coversheet link is 'ungray' - is ok to print it, and send off.

Now, I'm coming in sideways here, on yer particular casefile -

but --

are you using the online payment portal, or no?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
