Any SIF's? Jeez, August has around 15 interviews and Sept has 2 or 3 at the most. How pitiful! I wonder if October is going to be jam full of people or if they will wait until November.

Does anyone know, if the Petitioner (Sponsor on I-864) have his Mom living with him, but they do their finances and file taxes separately - would it be required to submit also his Mom's Tax Transcript? The income shown is sufficient for more than three people, but I am really afraid of possible RFE... I mentioned his Mom in Q.10 ("Permanent address in the United States where you intend to live, if known... Include the name of a person who currently lives there.") of my DS-230 form. Thank you!

In my view we all live in different worlds. Not everything is cookie cutter. So if his mother lives with him or he lives with his mother but she or he are not dependent on each other then I would not be concerned. The mother has no obligation to provide or disclose her financial situation with Home Land Security, NVC or anyone. I would recommend that the Son include a letter clarifying the relationship he has with his mother from his prospective. If his income is sufficient to support his wife and is 3X or more above the poverty level the Govt should be satisfied that she will not be a burden on society. This is just my opinion I do not have any special knowledge.

When my mother was alive, she lived in a house that I bought her and I lived in another home I had in another state. I still claimed her as a dependant. Her SS income was not that high and I didn't charge her rent which would have well exceeded her monthly living cost. Never has a problem.

yayy i finally got their email. I ll send the DS-3032 again now. I m not getting how to pay the AOS fee online because there is no Invoice ID number given in the email.Do i have to call them and ask for it ?

Did u read PDF E-mail? Its attached to your email and It's on the bottom PDF letter was e-mail to you, and you'll see your NVC # and your Invoice #

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum before sending in your packages.

5) Mail your DS230 package to your USC spouse as soon as you get your NOA2. That way he/she can overnight it to NVC as soon as the IV bill clears.

6) Get your taxes, employment letter, paystubs, PCCs, civil documents etc. while you wait for the NOA2.

Regarding the AOS package:

First thing, I would recommend is that you print out the I-864 form and read the instructions about 2 times. Mark out the relevant portions and ask any questions you might have after that. I would suggest you read the guides for a comprehensive idea about how the AOS packet will comprise.

Recommended AOS package:

I-864 Coversheet (with barcode) for payment of $70

Form I-864 (signed and dated)

2009 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2008 Federal Tax Return and W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2007 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS Tax Transcript

Letter of Employment

Pay stub(s) from the most recent six months

Bank Statements.

Remember, the USC petitioner will file a I-864 regardless of income. If your joint sponsor lives in the same household as the petitioner, then they will use I-864A. If they live in a separate residence, then they will fill in another I-864.

For your joint sponsor you will need proof of their citizenship/residency. For household member, you will need proof of relationship and proof of same household/residence.

Don't forget your cover letter. I found that putting together a cover letter ahead of time helped me because it identified those items I would be attaching into the individual pkgs. I just used it as a checklist and marked them off as I completed them... Its really pretty straight forward once you get the understanding. I also put together a letter to explain items that were not 100% clear. In my case I am not employed so I discussed that. One of my Certified Divorce Certificates has the Stamp placed on the back of the last page of the document. Why they put it there I dont know but I explained that. I also told them that my documents contained proprietary and sensitive information and they needed to take care to ensure and minimize potential for theft or misuse. In the letter I also ask for Original to be returned at the interview and told them my wife would have copies if they needed them. Basically don't assume anything, Don't expect others to understand your situation what ever it maybe. Its your job to make it clear. You know your package and individual situation. Those items that may be slightly confusing to someone should be in my view explain or clarify to the reader (NVC & Embassy) and it might safe you a RFE... Happy trails...
