I suppose we'll just have to call this a Dido dedication thread, because there is a common theme running through it. And I'm not that big of a Dido fan, it's just that one of her songs also plays a part in mine and Billy's story.

Billy first came to visit in August, 2003. It was the most magical, yet VERY real, time of my entire life. And when he left, I thought my world was coming apart at the seams. I drove back from Cincinnati to here in Lexington and kept it together pretty well. (hard to drive through tears) And when I got home I put on a CD which always comforts me (a homemade one with Patsy Cline, Elton John, Queen, Barry Manilow, etc). For some reason, the danged thing wouldn't work and the radio switched on instead! Anyway, the song was one I'd heard but not paid much attention to before then. Here it is:

ALL of her songs have a special place for me and Stewart. I was in love with Stewart for a long time and it didn't work out...when it finally did, I was with another man...this was our song. I knew we would be together eventually..I was NOT giving up on my love for him...and I didn't Now I've never been happier.

This song is one of my favorites of hers as well. She is one of my favorite artists, especially when I'm feeling emotional! My Lover's Gone is another one of my favorites. It's so sad but it's an amazing song!

Here with me is playing in my head now and I feel like crying at work! All of her songs bring up so much emotion for me!!
