I have a few questions about the consulate there.

Does anyone know of any way to contact the people there? The only number I have is a recording. I haven't received any response when I send emails. So if any of you have some number that actually leads to a breathing person, I'd appreciate it!

Also, as far as the affidavit of support- do you need the last three years of tax returns in addition to the i-134? what about w2s? and pay stubs? I have all the documents required on the instructions for the i-134, but don't know if i need these other things. thanks!

Hi,

Casa says to email them and wait at least two weeks but I didn't really like that so I called them about our interview date. The number is listed in the Embassy Info link above so try calling that. I found that if I call and the security guard answers after I believe I dial 1 then 0... I ask him to speak to someone as to whether my petition had reached the Consulate or not. Then he told me to email, and I say I did several times and it was over 2 weeks ago with no answer so then he should transfer you to a woman. Ask the woman if you petition has been received and she might give you the same run around with emails so just say you have done it with no answers in a few weeks then she should transfer you to another lady who is very nice and very helpful. I asked her and she asked for my case # and told me they had it and when our interview was.

If you're not calling to see if your petition is there just make sure you tell them you have emailed with no response in over 2 weeks.

For the I-134 here is what I sent for myself:

-notarized I-134

-letter from employer on company letterhead stating what is required on the I-134

-Bank statement print outs for 6 months

-Tax transcripts that I ordered for free through the IRS because Id idn't have my W2's... last 3 years worth.

For my co sponsor we sent:

-Notarized I-134

-Letter from bank stating what is required on I-134 on company letterhead

-Letter from employer stating what is required on the I-134 on company letterhead

-Tax transcripts for the past 3 years

-Bank statements from past 6 months from online

With that all said and done... they never asked to see any financial documents in my fiance's interview. However you should complete everything and have it ready! If you have your W2's from the past 3 years then you can send those instead of tax transcripts.

Good luck and let me know if you need more help

Sarah

Awesome, so tax transcripts are good if you don't have w-2s? That's what I was wondering about, because there's no way for me to get those! Thank you so much for your help, you're a doll! ;)
