Yeah right.

It's a fair statement. If you cherish the U.S. Constitution and all that it stands for, you should be concerned about any law that aims to circumvent our constitutional rights. The Constitution is much more than just the 2nd Amendment.

Laws need to be fair to everyone, not just people who are 'average' and 'typical'.

The laws are fair, it's just post 60's the majority is ignored and the slim minority are always listened to. If something benefits 98% of people, it's ignored because it may impact the 2% negatively. This is not common practice abroad.

As pointed out time and time gain, there are more than enough reasonable measures to ensure the majority of people screened are either residents or not. For the the remaining, the have some explaining to do why their name does not appear in any background, license, tax or e-verify / federal immigration checks. Apparently to you guys this is discriminatory.

The rest of the first world doesn't buy that bullcrap, thus the reason why they don't have the equivalent of half of Australians population running around the country - like it's the wild wild west.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

People on jogs don't get asked for ID, particularly for no reason. Furthermore, you know first hand that some scumbag lib lawyer or the ACLU would be waiting to sue the country blind if this did happen. On a side note, I don't know about you but I personally wouldn't jog along the AZ border nor in the cancerous desert heat.

ID ... do I carry it while jogging or cycling

if something happens at least the EMT will know who I am and who to contact in case of an emergency. to carry ID is no big deal

I must have missed the part which stated you can walk all into and all over the country at your own leisure and do as you please. Furthermore, putting the needs and wants of illegal aliens ahead of your own people.

Actually, they do BY. It is a fairly common rouse for criminals to case a house, business or neighborhood. But then again, police are very highly trained in how to spot those from the real ones. However, the fact remains, that it does happen, a lot more often than you'd think. You really should stick to facts. ;)

Most normal people do so too for the reasons you mentioned, yet apparently some on here don't carry ID.

Then again, ID or not, a police officer is not allowed to ask for ID without probably cause - end of story.

I'm sure it happens but like BY I've never seen a jogger be stopped by the police. Of course, I know that me not having seen it means just that.

Don't just see the jogger, be the jogger.

Well I go for jogs and have never been asked for ID. Since you have the facts, what percentage of joggers are asked to randomly present ID? What percentage of motorist or people in general, in a given day, are stopped and asked to present their id?

Okay I remember the only time I had to show ID for anything in DC and that was when we entered the Australian consulate.

Steven, I don't believe you love the Constitution. Nothing you promote for this country embodies a love for it, any of its principles, or its preservation. You don't keep trying to change something you love into something unsustainable to push an ideology, but that's what you do. Your kind of "love" amounts to lip service only. Not an insult, just an observation.

Sorry BY, those statistics would require a much broader statistical base, of which I don't at present have access to. And to be perfectly honest, I couldn't disclose any real figure anyways. Well, I could, but there is a good chance that I'd get fired. All I can say is that it does happen. I'm not saying that it is the norm, not by any stretch. But the fact that it does happen, does give police probable cause to stop a jogger.

On another note, I have recently started jogging. The first time I went out, I had my keys, phone, and wallet on me. But I found it annoying, so I have stopped carrying anything other than my housekey. I don't really have to worry about identifying myself as I have my Drivers License number memorized and If I get stopped can just give them that number to pull up on their computer to identify me. My drivers license picture is #######, but it does resemble me.

That's disingenuous at best, at worst, a clumsy troll.

A second reminder - discuss the issue, not the person expressing their opinions about the issue.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
