I talked to my husband about it and he has a good job, however I am in the miltary and I am in my contract until 2010, so I can not leave. He told me what he could afford for us so after what I saw I was like I could that, a house and a maid is what we agreed to if everything did not work out. As far as him moving, he has to during this time I will finish up a lot of my school and I am thinking of retiring in the miltary we want to get a house in Morocco and then we will set ourselves up to moce there. We would need to get out of debt like pay off loans and credit cards. I have destroyed my credit cards and I am working on this and paying off my car. Which I think will be done by then. I want to live in Rabat because it is very city like and they have the english school. MY son and I are taking classes. ANd my fiance said that if we do not get approve he wanted me to come twice a year until I got things settle. I would save a lot of moeny and pay off my bills if this happened. But I am about to start working on my Master's Degree and my friends say that this in MOrocco would get me a very good position. I am also trying to figure out if the UNited Nations is there and maybe take advantage of the military and try to get a UN assignment. Somewhere around there and I am taking Arabic and French Classes. So this is the back up to the back up plan. However, we want to get a house or two in Morocco and maybe have some family live in it until we return, we get familiair and when I retire my military pay will be plenty in Morocco and my husband hopefully will be able to return to work and receive a high paying position because we have agreed that when he gets here he will stay in school until he gets a Masters Degree. So I think we seriously considered this and I love the maid part. I was so spoiled there I know that I would have to do more in I moved there, like he would teach me how to shop and then I will have to do this, but when I was there I would visit him for lunch and sleep late, and then hangout with the women and help with the cooking. I want to live close to the family it was so neat I love the unity. Anyway, I do not like Morocco much and if it was not for my husband I would not want to be there full time. But I love him and I love the way he makes me feel and his ability to deal with me, we are a good match and I want to be with him and if you are going through the visa process you have to think if the "what if they say no's" it gives some comfort. To know that he can support me in Morocco, etc. I heard of some Moroccan men marrying some Americans and the woman moves there however it was not a good story.

We have discussed moving back to Europe once my children are grown. I share custody with their dad, so I can't leave the US. I would not even consider leaving them behind right now... ages 11 and 14.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Yes, I do consider it regularly. Our plan is to retire there later. I have too much american debt to pay off on a Moroccan income  . I also am self-employed in a very good business and it's hard to leave a clientele I worked so hard to build up over the years. I love my famiy there and want to be close to them also one day. Another issue is my family here (parents). My parents would flip! They are getting older and I live very close to them. Altho, I'm mixed abt that b/c Said parents are aging also and I'd like to be there too if/when they become ill but at least there is some family living there with them. My family is so scattered like many American families are. So..... I am trying to pay off debt, not incur much more, and hope to retire in the next 10-20 yrs and move to Morocco. In the meantime, we plan to visit there 1-2x/year. (F)

We've discussed retiring to Alexandria one day. This would be after my parents are gone and my children are grown. We'll work and save and see where life takes us. But spending out our days in a beach bungalow watching those sunsets would be a heavenly closing chapter. We both loved it there.

This was one of the first questions he asked me... would I one day go back to Iran with him and live there? He asked me this the 2nd week I had met him.... My answer was "if I love you I will go to the end of the world with you"... cheesy, ha? But I really meant it... and I still do... :luv::luv:

Later on he told me he would never forget my answer.... I think I scored :lol:

If I had to do it I would. It is actually my home country as well. However when we discussed this issue a long time ago, I refused. My reason is fincances ofcourse. There is no way I can make the money I currently make now over there or even close to it. Add in the medical benefits and all the other perks and the answer is still no. I do love Jordan alot, but living there is alot different than visiting.

We would have to be in a really good financial sitiation for me to consider moving there. He feels the same way. The average salary in Jordan is about $300 USD per month so unless I have alot of money in the bank to live off of, then nope. :star:
