Getting Interview Date?

I was wondering how long the typical wait time is after sending the p3 and receiving an interview date? (through Montreal). My packet arrived there on June 24th - i've seen other people note when their package was 'logged'. How do you find this out when you can't call or contact Montreal? Others have mentioned calling to get their interview date - who do we call?

Thanks, in advance, for any responses. I'm just back from a visit to my fiancee after being apart this time for 4 months - hopefully this is the last 'visit' and the next one can be my move! Thank you to all the VJers for your useful information - you have all provided so much 'real' information!

Peggy (and Tony)

Congrats on your packet 3!!

I don't think there is a "typical" wait time. So far, we have waited for 2 months to even get our date - still waiting. Some have waited longer, some much less. Seems they kind of schedule in clumps. So who knows... we could end up getting a date at the same time!

You can call the Department of State - 202-663-1225. Press 1 then 0 to get to the operator. Have your case number from packet 3 ready.

Good luck!!

Thanks! Someone else messaged me and suggested I call DOS, so I did at lunch. They said the packet was logged on June 30th. At this point, she said that montreal was backlogged (surprise!) and that realistically I probably wouldn't get notified of a date until late August/early September. She also said that it seemed that montreal was assigning interview dates in 'batches', usually at the beginning of the month. I'm hoping to be done, moved, and married before I turn 40 (on October 29th).. maybe wishful thinking...

There's really no telling with Montreal, and from experience with our batch don't believe everything DOS tells you. They are not telling lies, but I don't think they know exactly what's going on with Montreal either... The interview date will come, it's a matter of time, and don't expect it to be quick. I know this is frustrating, try to stay positive, and it'll all come together! Look at halfnhalf, they've been waiting 60 + days for a date...And some CR-1 people have been waiting 11 weeks for a date too...

Stay positive!

I've been calling DOS and they've said: "Your fiancé is eligible but has not been scheduled.", Packet 3 hasn't been logged yet. Not scheduled yet.

Then today: "There are no available interview dates." LOL.

So I checked recent Montréal VJ timelines and saw:

A batch of K-1's got their P4's mid-April.

The next batch of K-1's got their P4's the last week of June.

There are K-1 interviews scheduled throughout August.

No one on VJ timelines yet has an interview scheduled for September.

Of people who *got* their P4 in this *last batch*, the longest wait for it was 13 weeks from sending back P3.

Not that we can deduce anything from this about when they'll schedule their next batch of K-1 interviews. We can stay hopeful, though. :)
