I passed my interview today july 27th at bloomington, MN. My original interview was on june 23rd but i re-scheduled my interview because me and my wife were overseas on vacation..i had brought bunch of new documents such as recent bank statements and bills on top of old ones, student loan letters, tax transcripts, marriage certificate, 2 passport photos. The IO was very cool dude, he called my name, i went with him, first thing he asked me to do was stand and raise my hand and say i will say nothing but the truth.. took seat. he had my file on his table with 2 passport photos. asked me for my interview letter, Green cards, selective service card, state id. He then confirmed my name, address, DOB, SSN, my wife's name, her employer and job ( XYZ hospital & RN).. I had to write my full name 3 times in a paper box provided. asked for additional evidence, i gave him recent + old bank statements, our apartment lease, student loans, recently oversea trip itinerary, he went through it and said thats enough. i didn't had to show him my phone bills, nor marriage certificate( little weird), nor wife's passport or citizen certificate,.. also didn't need my passport photo he already had them. he made photocopies of my green card , selective service card and state id. then on to civic test. had to read "Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves".. something something.very simple and write "lincoln was the president during civil war".

then asked me following questions:

1. delcaration of independence written? i screwed this one and said 1787 got confused for constitution written date.the correct answer is july 4 1776.. but got rest all right. :)

2. people sold as slaves? = africans

3. we elect president for how many years? = 4 yrs

4. longest river in usa? = mississippi river

5. present president ?= barrack obama

6. first ten amendments to constitution? = bill of rights

7. speaker of the house?= nancy pelosi

he gave me a letter saying "u passed the interview and recommend for approval". He also said that my oath ceremony would be couple of weeks. I asked if i can get oath at earlier date since my classes start on Aug 1st. then he said latest oath ceremony is on Aug. 4th & asked if its okay , i said thats fine with me.. i shook his hand and thanked him and he was like " congratulations and good luck".. told me to wait outside and wait for name to be called and collect the oath ceremony letter. after 30 mins of waiting i got my oath ceremony letter.

thats about it..

Thanks to all the people here at VJ who are always helpful. Although I am not famous here (lol) but i've been secretly following you guys.. I guess my journey is almost over.and definitely it has been a pleasant one. will post about my oath ceremony.

once again thanks a lot everyone. you guys rock!!
