Thanks again Jim for letting me know the site shortens the URL's. Unfortunately, I had already done a copy and paste on two other links:

http://www.lawhelp.o...tateabbrev=/WA/

Do you have any idea how I can determine the full URL? I can't find the Post I copied them from and could use them as I am having a very hard time convincing my would be co-sponsor to sign.

Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, Kevin

If you had the actual valid link then you can copy the URL. The procedure depends on the browser you're using. Most browsers will display the full URL in the status bar (at the bottom of the window) if you hover your mouse pointer over the link without actually clicking on it. If you want to actually copy a link to paste it into your browser's URL box then you can usually point at the link and click the right mouse button to bring up a menu of options. Common options would be "Copy link location" (Firefox) or "Copy shortcut" (Internet Explorer). I don't know the options on a Mac, and haven't used a web browser on a Linux system in a while.

What you have are the broken text links. Unfortunately, there's no way to convert those back into valid links. The rest of the URL was lost when you copied the text.

To give you a little more insight into how this works, there are two parts to a link on a web page. The first part is the "anchor" tag, which provides the URL that's being linked to. The second part is the visual object that the user will be able to click on. For example, if I wanted to display the words "My Link", and have those words link to a web page at http://www.nowhere.com, then the HTML code would look something like this:

<a href="http://www.nowhere.com">My Link</a>

Obviously, copying the text "My Link" would not be useful for saving the link address.

When you type a valid URL into a post, the forum software automatically converts it into an HTML tag similar to the above when it's displayed. However, if the URL is long then it shortens the visual object text to make it easier to display. What you copied and saved was the visual object text, and not the actual URL.
