Approval without Interview?

Hi all,

I recieved three letters today dated August 8th - two telling me that I needed to make an additional appointment for the additional biometrics but one saying that I had been approved and the card was in the mail. I have also recieved an e-mail stating this.

Of course, I'm sure that this isn't possible (to get the card without the interview), but I'm also worried that somehow they have screwed the case up or I have missed something previously that is going to be held against me. Anyone have any experience with this? The two letters regarding the biometrics state "In processing your case we have reached the point where we need you to make an appointment to go to one of our ASC's to have additional biometrics done...." - is this the standard letter for the biometrics before the interview?

It is possible to get approved without the interview. It has been happening to several people over the last month or so. It is strange that you get letters with different information. Hopefully you have been approved and are all set now.

There are many people getting approved without an interview. If the case gets transfered to CSC, that is normally what happens.

My husband's AOS was approved without an interview after being transferred to CSC. His green card just arrived last Thursday. We were notified that his case was being transferred to CSC and were confused at first, but after doing some research right here on Visa Journey, we discovered that being transferred to CSC means that most likely you will get the green card without an interview. About the "additional biometrics", never heard of that. Did your original biometrics expire, or did they end up with a bad set of fingerprints? From timelines I've read here, most people just do biometrics once, then the interview gets scheduled. Anyway, it sounds like congratulations are in order! Hopefully your green card will show up in the mail soon!

Congrats on your approval

Most of AOS cases that have been transferred to CSC have been automatically approved without interviews.

I was approved without an interview as well. About the biometrics appointment request, it is peculiar since they said they are already mailing out your green card. Could the biometrics possibly be for an EAD for which you also applied? You might want to give a phone call to the mis-information line and ask them what status they have listed on their files and also ask them bout the appointment letters. If they can't answer your (which may be the case) You may also want to make an infopass appointment at your nearest immigration center and ask them if you still need to have the biometrics done, especially if you have received your green card by the time of your appointment.
