I have a little problem. I am communicating with my fiancee for about 2 years. I really want to bring her to USA. I already prepared the K-1 package. I have not sent them because I think there is a problem.

We do not have enough proof of our relationship. We were not thinking about saving emails and stuff like that. I delete my emails as soon that I finish reading them. She does the same. I do not keep too much chat history in yahoo,...etc.

After we found out the requirements back in March, we started to save as much as possible, phone bills, Western-union receipts, yahoo chat, emails etc.

So we only have proof from March onward, and the photos we took when I visted her in the Philippines in June. I took few photos of us, her family, and few friends. And saved all receipts including engagement ring receipt, receipt with her name and my name in the same location, and travel tickets.

Will that be enough or should I forget and not send the K1 and wait a year or so ? :( :(

:help:

You do not need two years of relationship. How is it so many people misunderstand that? You only need to show that you have met her AT LEAST ONE TIME within the past two years. Your trip in June will do nicely. You do not need to send ANY emails with your petition and to do so is wasted postage.

You can meet a girl today, propose to her tonight and file for the K-1 tomorrow.

I am glad, really. However, had you read the instructions and guides you would have known you could have sent your petition FROM the Phillipines, AT the airport when you met her in June. If you are going to do this yourself, you are going to have to read and understand the instructions. Of course asking questions here is good also.

Read the VJ guides and the I-129f form instructions. The first step is the petition. You do not need ANY evidence of relationship for ANY amount of time for the petition. You need...

1. Proof you are a citizen

2. Proof you are both free to marry (NO you do NOT need a Phillipine certificate of no marriage for that, simply answer "Never married" if that is the case)

3. You intend to get married within 90 days of her arrival. You each send a signed letter of intent. Use the sample letter here at VJ.

4. Passport photos

5. Evidence you have met in person ONE time in the last 2 years. Photos of you together, boarding passes and passport stamps from your visit are sufficient.

Other members are right that 1 meeting is enough for USCIS, but the Embassy is required to try to differentiate if it’s a real relationship. You have enough but you both should do a letter of how you met, how much time you spent together, that you will get married and where, and that you love each other, keep one page and you must sign it. The fact is if your story is compelling it will move though the process easier and many times faster. In the letter point to anything that supports that you relationship, like the photos and your passport dates proving you where in the country. It is VERY RELEVANT that you spent 2 years together and USCIS should have that in their file so when it goes to US Embassy they will know that, too. Always make a full copy of everything you send. On photos that you do have put date of photo or approx like April 2010, names of people on photos, helps if there are family photos, what you where doing, where u where at.

On the letter that I am supposed write should I state that we like a civil wedding here(in USA) but the church wedding we want it in the Philippines. We already have the name of the wedding planner. Is that okay o should I omit the part that we are doing the civil wedding here in USA?

Are you writing a love story? The intent letter need only be short and sweet... "I intend to marry may fiance(e) within 90 days after arrival to the USA." That is all. Period. no need to be "mushy" or tell them how or even what the wedding plans are.

YMMV

We have the intend letters done, I was referring to the 18B question on the I129F.

Again, are you writing a love story? It says describe the circumstances of your MEETING. Does not say describe the circumstances of your relationship, future marriage plans or anything else. Take note of the size of the box that the give you for a response. Keep it simple.

I met my wife via <how>, and I visited her in her country on <dates of trip>.

YMMV
