*** And, I didn't say your fiancee' shouldn't trust you, I merely asked if she did... not really looking for your answer, nor do I expect to get one - it's not my business... May Allah be w/ you.

My wish of luck to you is totally sincere...

Sorry, what I meant to say here is that I didn't say your fiancee *shouldn't* trust you, but that **I** would not trust you if I were in her shoes... Also, this is only my guess, that if you were 17 when she visited and you had to hide her from the family, there must be a great age difference. Many people have it and it's not an issue or it is overcome - so, yes, most obstacles can be dealt with. Bonne Courage! :)

Not sure what stage you are in your visa process - but if it has been more than 3 years since you saw your fiance, that could be where you encouter a problem. For the fiance petition, you have to have met within 2 years.

However, if I am remembering correctly, you are the person that failed your medical a few months ago for drug use. Have you had your interview?

OK well I can understand why you kept it secret when she initially came, and I do understand why you didn't tell you family later. However I do think it is going to hurt your case but ofcourse it won't be the only factor taken into consideration. You should however think of other red flags you have and how this will play into that. I don't mean to offend you, but you have to think of it from the Embassy's point of view. If there is any mention of drug use, added to the fact that she didn't meet your family, and 3 years since the last visit. I think they will be likely to scrutinize you very closely. Are there any other red flags?

Again I am not trying to be mean I just want you to be prepared when you go to the embassy. You should think of everything they could point out and be prepared to show proof against it. Like Rebecca (Bosco) said, if the visit was 3 years ago then your fiance will have to make another visit. If she does come again this would be the perfect time to redeem yourself. I think its important that she makes another visit to see you.

When it comes time for my fiance to interview I am highly relying on all the pictures of us with our families as proof of our relationship. My family also traveled with me to Jordan, so for me, this was a big part of our "proof". :star:

I just have to add my 2 cents in. :blush:YES they can and do check with family and friends sometimes regarding your relationship. We had 4 of Amrs neighbors tell us that someone {who did not identify themselves} came to his neighborhood and was asking questions about him and I. They asked them if Amr was married, if so how many wives, what his occupation was and so on. We never thought too much of it until another friend of Amr's who was coming on a K-3 visa talked about the same thing happening to them.

I heard Cairo is pretty harsh.

I think one time Meriem told me about a woman who was processing a visa through Cairo, and one time in e-mails back and forth with her SO she jokingly mentioned terrorist, the consulate had the email and questioned about it... so it is better for you to mount all the evidence you can to show a bonafied relationship, and rehearse well for the interview.
