Warning, double check ALL information your forms when you receive them. We finally got the BIO letter, but of course the date is one day after my due date, to afraid to risk it so we are going to reschedule. However we first had to change the name because they misspelled my husbands middle name, so we spend 15 minutes changing that with USCIS hopefully we can get a date a little later in the month of August so he won't risk missing his appointment and abandoning the application. Now we have to send the request for change tomorrow and hope my husband is schedule before his trip the end of September. I wish we were just able to call the local bio office and deal with them. Worried now, this stuff is never easy! Hopefully the new bio letter has the correct name this time:).

Have you guys thought about trying a walk in? Considering your situation I think they'll let you do it early. Once you have the bio letter in hand you can try. I think it would be better to do it early and get it out of the way so you can focus on your new baby, sit back and wait for your approval to come in, rather than having to reschedule and worry about USCIS messing up again.

We thought about it, but apparently this office is small and crowded, it had a note about limited space and it is two hours away from where we live so that makes us nervous.

Here's what I'd do if I were in your shoes. I'd call USCIS and explain the situation to them, ask them if I can go to the appointment even though the name is misspelled. It's still a valid appointment letter and it should be able to work. I would then ask them if I can correct the spelling of the name via infopass or perhaps at the actual appointment if possible.

Remember that after you do your biometrics it could be months before you receive an approval...plenty of time to make sure the name is spelled correctly on the card itself. My fear for you with putting it off is that they mess up with rescheduling then later down they say you missed your appointment, abandoned your application and tell you it's your fault.

Whatever you decide I hope it all works out.

All offices have that note hanging on their door... in your condition, I am sure they will accept you as a walk in.

As for the misspelling, during your biometrics, you can correct it... they always ask you about the information and if anything is misspelled.

I strongly agree with this. I've read where people say it took months for them to get their case rescheduled and it was as if their application got placed at the bottom of the pile.

Well all we can do is wait and see, at least we have the NOA that allows him to travel and work.

The NOA-1? If that's what you're referring to then it doesn't allow you to work/travel, it's just a receipt.

Actually...when it comes to ROC the NOA1 also serves as proof of a 1 year extension on a 2 year conditional visa so the OP is in fact correct.
