Hey guys! I got cleared last night for time off to visit my fiancé next week!! *swoons* (lol) Our K1 is still in processing at the CSC. Anything I should/shouldn't say when crossing the border (taking Greyhound) aside from the whole "don't offer any more information than what is asked for"?? I've got a letter from my employer, my roommate whom I pay rent to, and my return tickets to offer as proof of my return to Canada. I'm only staying for a week anyhow. Just coming down to help him move into his (hopefully soon our) new apartment. I'M SO EXCITED!! I intend to say that I'm visiting "my fiancé" instead of boyfriend or friend (though I'm sure they wouldn't bat an eye if I said I was visiting a friend, actually that's what I said on my last 3 pre-K1 visits). Any advice on making the border crossing ny smoother? Should I take a copy of our NOA1? Keep my mouth shut about who I'm visiting? Thanks!

Bring a copy of your NOA1 and perhaps even a photocopy of your K-1 application. I carried mine back and forth with me while visiting and when I was pulled into secondary once for further questioning, they looked at the file and it helped to reassure them that I was a bona fide visitor since I had bothered to go through the visa application process. Good luck and enjoy your visit.

Oh, Just pack what you need for the week as well - don't bring so many personal items that it look like you have packed to move there even if you thought about bringing some of your things down.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
