Hello all,

I finally received all my fiances documents and preparing everything to file...Ok here is my question.

On the I-129 question 16 it says: "if your fiancé(e)'s native alphabet uses other than Roman letters, write his or her name and address abroad in the native alphabet."

Here is the deal..My fiance is Thai but lives in Germany and she is going to interview in Germany? Why would I write her German address in Thai? Is this a case of the question not matching the intent? do I leave it blank...do I say N/A

I'm going to proceed without it unless you smart people advise me otherwise :)

I imagine you just need to write her name in Thai. She doesn't live in thailand so there's no Thai address for her.

Name in Thai is required.

Just put the German address as you would write it to have it delivered in Germany.

The consulate in Germany to which you are applying for her K-1 will send her

the letter inviting her to the interview at her German address and will address

all other communications to her at the German address.

My wife got the letters from the BKK consulate at her home address

in Thailand because that's where she was.

Thanks for the response...I just typed her name in thai and put N/A for the address because the section right before that has you list her current address and whats the point of writing her name in english when the section says...write in her native languange. I guess I could re-do it just put her name in Thai and the rest of the address in English. Seems pointless but after reading the RFE thread im getting a little bit paranoid.

Also, after reading the RFE thread I have another couple question before I mail this sucker out.

1. The checklist in the forum says 1 passport style for both the petitioner and the beneficiary. Some people in the RFE thread stated they got an RFE saying they needed two of each. So which is it? I didn't see any replies in the RFE thread questioning why they got on RFE, so I can only assume that it's two photos for both of us.

2. Some people stated that they got an RFE for not having the beneficiary's birth certificate. I didn't have my fiance send that to me because in the checklist it said it was not needed. So which is it? beneficiary Birth Certificate or not?

3. Proof of having met within two years....I met my fiance while stationed in Germany on military orders. My explanation on how we met is quite simple. For primary evidence I included a copy of my military orders highlighting the date i was to arrive and the duration of my orders (2yrs Mar08-Mar2010)/ a copy of my german electric bill which matches my address on my G235/ As well as a picture of both of us in my house as supplementary evidence.

While i lived there we took a trip to Pisa/ I have copies of our boarding passes which our electronic print outs (Thanks Ryan Air!) which show us going from Germany > Pisa, Italy. I also included a hand dated photo of us together in front of the leaning tower of Pisa. They don't do Passport stamps traveling within the EU.

Finally after i moved to Maryland i took a military space available flight to Germany for a visit...I included my leave paperwork stamped/dated/signed showing i signed up for space available travel back to the states. My leave paperwork also has my fiancees address listed in the leave location information. While on leave we took a trip to Mallorca Spain. I also included a copy of our Ryan Air Boarding passes showing us going from Germany to Mallorca, allong with a couple hotel receipts as supplementary evidence but i agree that they only support the primary cause they don't have her name on them. They just say 2 occupants and the dates match up. Also the picture is just us on the beach...it could be any beach for that matter?

The only thing I could think to do would be to is pull some credit card statements from online showing my purchases from my trip? Does the forum say this is good enough evidence?

ughhhh I'm stressing a part of me says just send it in Carl...what will happen will happen you can fix it after the fact and not worry so much now...hahahahahha btw you guys/gals are all awesome!

Thanks

-Carl

I think I sent 1 but with 20-20 hindsight I would think 2 would be better,

because there's nobody out there who hasn't futzed with a photo and

somehow destroyed or damaged it and USCIS staff are no different.

If ###### happens, it will be up to you to send them another one, unless

you've already did that the first time around.

Your other documentation looks great. I always liked Pizza...

I only sent 1 passport pic of both of us and it was fine. As for the birth certificate I didn't send that either. I think people who get a RFE for that are possibly filing for a CR1 and in that case the NVC will need that, but typically for a k1 the beneficiary's birth certificate is not needed until they return packet 3 or at the embassy. Also, a person can get a RFE from the embassy (i.e. missing birth certificate) before they will proceed, so maybe thats what they meant.

Hope this helps!!

I'm the USC - I didn't send my birth certificate but just a full-color photocopy of every page of my passport.

For her we sent her birth certificate w/certified translation and photocopy of her current & previous passports.

They are interested to see the history of the non-USC's travel to the US (& perhaps other countries, but the

focus is on any travel to the US).

Thanks, that makes much more sense about the birth certificate RFEs being from CR-1 cases. I'm just going to go ahead and send it in without it. She has never traveled to the US so sending copies of that will be of no use. And it all actuality if it was a requirement it should state so somewhere.

Thanks..I will be sending out my 129F this week!
