Oo, if you're in Charlotte, NC, head south on I-77 just over the South Carolina state line and there's farm stands that sell things like peach chutneys that are fantastic. Also pick yourself up a jug of peach cider while you're at it, it's fabulous but probably won't travel well, being bulky!

Nice tip AJones... I've something similar to this idea.. one of my cousin is crazy about jelopeno peppers... I've been told that he try to take some with him back to UK when he comes here, I am going to try to find cans of those Jelopenos to see if they can travel w/o messing up my luggage

The peach chutney sounds real nice too. Indian eat something similar to it made of mango, so Peach chutney would be a neat thing to take.

If you want to freak them out take some Velvetta cheese. Watch the Brits scream about how cheese doesn't come from anywhere but the refrigerator isle! Take them some REAL salsa instead of that ####### they have in the markets over there. Mexican food is not all OLD EL PASO. BARF. Take them Mt. Dew...they'll get hooked and have a hard time getting it there...LOL.

Any coffee drinkers? I have a friend who collects Starbucks mugs from all over? Maybe something like that.

And I am serious about the salsa. -.-

I dunno what you mean! LOL. I don't drink Mt. Dew, but some friends did, so he tried the diet version. I had to take him some when I went to visit last year...LOL. I also gave him a food basket of that kind of stuff while he was here for Christmas to take home.

Salsa...Do you know how hard it is to find CILANTRO in Scotland? After I walked up and down the veggie isle in ASDA for about 30 minutes, we were told it's corriander. Bah. I don't think I will ever volunteer to make Mexican while in Scotland again...Although that could be major bank when it comes to a resturant idea. Hmmmm.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I am so jealous you can get the old bamboo (Irn Bru). Tried loads of places in Phoenix without any luck. I'm getting serious withdrawals! My sentiments are with Andrew - every time I see a British product in the stores I get all glassy eyed!!
