I was just wondering some things about the medical exam. I do not have a copy of my immunisation records.

I understand that there is a blood test that you can take to show immunity, although sometimes they don't have accurate results and then you need to get your shots again..

In any event, I almost certian that I don't have a Hep B shot as those are a pretty recent injection. I am currently pregante, so I don't think I can be getting these shots. I read that you can file a waiver for medical reasons, but does anyone know how much longer that can take?

Thank You, I can stop stressing over that.

Now, I am just back to worry about everything seeming to take three times as long. I hope that the recent events in the UK, don't add even more time to the process.

The doctor will determine what is required dependant on circumstances and will waive any that are not applicable or appropriate.

M., go to the walk-in and tell them you need a titres test for the following:

MMR (measels, mumps, rubella)

Td (tetanus)

Chicken Pox

If you haven't had a tetanus shot in a while, you might need to get one, you need a booster shot every 10 years. I had to get the booster since I hadn't had one in 9 years.

Get them to print you out the results, have them stamp it, sign it and make it look all official. That's all I took to my medical. You can get this done at any time, you don't need to wait for anything telling you to go.

If you have trouble at your walk-in, go to the one I went to, it's in the mall next to the Groundhog.

That is exactly why I said to wait and see what the doctor at the medical says is appropriate for you.

Hi there,

I had to get all the same shot's for my job but as I was pregnant at the time and my doctor advised against it. And even if a doctor said it would be ok, I would still feel uncomfortable about it.

I believe I read somewhere that you can ask for a waiver provided that the applicant gets any required shots prior to appying for their AOS. Is this correct? Will it slow my application down?

you can have the titres done with your regular doctor, take that to the immigration medical, and that will cover you. If you are due for a tetanus shot, then of course you can waive it until after you've had the baby, and No, it will not slow down your processing any. I believe you can also waive the chest x-ray, but check with the panel physician. You can just get the shot later before your AOS interview somewhere in the states. It'll cost ya a whole lot more there tho obviously.
