watch your bottles at the Maiden in Kyiv

Just a heads up. I was in Kyiv last week for my ladies K-1 interview. I was at Independence Square, where I've drunk a million pivos. I was hanging with my lady and a friend of hers from the university. I went to one of the kiosks, bought a bottled Becks, went back, was talking with Veka and Oxsana, they were deciding where to go. I thought it was unusual that the lady at the kiosk did not open my beer. Anyway, they were making plans on doing a little shopping, then meeting me for dinner. About the time they walked torward Kreschatik, I noticed the local militia hassling three Amerikanki. I watched. It was just after dark. The militia took them up the street left of McDonalds, and then I watched another of their party follow. Maybe 10 minutes later, everyone was back. I went and talked to the guys. Turns out they were in Ukraine to go to a friends wedding in Vinnista. They were hanging in Kyiv a few days. The peace keepers said they were breaking the law having an open bottled beer. Now against the law at the Maiden. They went up the hill for the shake down. Their buddy that followed knew the routine. He offered 100 Hrg, the enforcement said 100 for each, done deal. They came back down and we purchased plastic cups to put our pivos in. We were all laughing about it. Just watch yourself there. Also, first time in 5 years I was approached by a pimp offering me the services of his herd. "massage." Wow, I could have used one but I had to go find Veka. Sorry man. Also, in Kharkov at Freedom Square, the kiosks are putting ones bottle in a brown paper bag. Only at the square, no where else. Just trying to keep y'all from having to pay a fine. On the 30th, me and Veka are entering the US. Man, have I got my work cut out for me.
