Hi All,

I had my fingerprints this week and got a book to study for the test. But here is my question?

In the book there are some questions say:List two, or What is the one right or freedom from the first Amendment.

There are 5 things in answer but in the question they say one

I got confused.

do I need to say all the answers?

Or can i pick any one between them

like what are two rights in the declaration of independence?life, liberty, pursuit of happiness.Should I say all or just two of them?

I thank you guys in advance for all your help

The booklet lists all the possible answers. You are only required to answer the requested number of answers. So if it tells you to pick 2 rights, you answer with 2. If they want one. You give them one.

Hope this makes sense.

What is the rule of law?

There are 4 answers:

Everyone must follow the law

Leaders must obey the law

Governments must obey the law

No one is above the law

Can I pick one in this case?or do I need to answer all 4?

Basically, if you look at the answers you will see that they are all different ways of saying the same thing - that everyone - which includes the government and the leaders of the country - must follow the law, so in this case your best answer would be either the first or the fourth one as that explains more fully the Rule of Law. You could even combine the answers - which is what I did because this was one of the questions I was asked. I answered, "The Rule of Law is that no one, not the government nor the country's leaders, is above the law. Everyone must follow the law".

When you read over the questions pay close attention to what the question is actually asking and it will make it easier to know how to answer if you have a choice of several answers listed. In some case, the 'answers' are all variations or different ways of saying the same thing. Others, however, are all different so it is important to know all of the answers. When it says 'list two' or 'name three' then you only need to list 2 or 3 of the answers listed. It is confusing, definitely, but studying the questions closely and trying to reword the questions or answers that seem confusing into other words may make it easier to understand exactly what answer is the best.

I found the easiest way to study was to divide the questions into 3 piles (I used the flashcards but you can print them out as well) : Pile 1: questions I definitely know the answers; Pile 2: questions I definitely don't know the answers: and pile 3: questions where I think I know the answers but I'm not sure. I would then go through the different piles whenever I had a few spare minutes and as I began to know the answers I would move the questions into pile number 2 or number 1. That way I could focus on the questions I didn't know very well or had problems remembering.

Good luck. :)

ditto,

just pick one of them, the easiest for you to remember.

that one was one of my 6 questions at the interview. No one is above the law.
