Biometrics in Fresno, California

Hi,

I see people talking about walk-in biometrics appointments. Do they have to be done at the same office that your scheduled appointment is at? How long does the I-765 (EAD) take after the biometrics are done, usually?

Does anyone have experience with the office in Fresno - when's a good day & time to do a walk-in?

Kind regards,

Jørgen.

08/13/2010: RFE response NAO received per e-mail. (USPS receipt 08/11/2010)

08/16/2010: Requested expedited processing again.

08/24/2010: Contacted Representative about help. Inquired to USCIS, told us they couldn't ask for any kind of preferred processing, and gave us status update (At the "judicial stage of the process"?)

08/25/2010: Work permit card production ordered!

Just a quick update.

Today I went to the ASC in Fresno, CA. My appointment was 12th of August in Vista, CA. After reading on the forums, someone said that an ASC employee had said traffic died down at around 2PM, so I went there at 2.15-2.30PM on a Tuesday. I brought my passport and my receipt notices (and the appointment document). I arrived, there were about 4 non-employees there. He looked at my appointment, checked my passport, gave me a form. I filled out the form, gave him my appointment document, the form and my passport, and he casually asked if I lived in Vista, I said yes, and that my wife was working in Fresno temporarily (which is the case). He gave me a number, I waited a few minutes, got called in, got my prints and picture, and could leave.

The walkin was a resounding success. It took about 15-20 minutes from I entered the door to I left, and except for the casual mention of if I lived in Vista, no-one pointed out that my appointment was in a different county and two weeks from now. They were efficient and friendly, and all in all it was a great visit.

I post the above so that if you're in the same situation as me, maybe the above can answer some questions. :)

Kind regards,

Jørgen.

My husband just did a walk-in a week early for his biometrics at the Fresno office. We arrived at about 1:50pm, the security officer told us they allow walk-ins to enter only after 2pm, but since it was almost 2pm he let us go in and sit down. We had to wait until after all the appointments for the day had been processed. They were very busy that day, so we waited until about 3:30pm before my husband was called for his biometrics. The actual process only took 10-15 minutes. The staff was all very nice and friendly.

Same here. My appointment was scheduled for 12/19/2011, but went in on the 7th. I got there at 8 am, but the security person told me to come back at 2 pm, but he said it wasn't guaranteed they would see me. I got there at 2 and waited until 3 pm and took my photo and fingerprints. Very freindly staff! Hopefully my interview will go as smoothly.
