If you have no movement after 3 weeks talking to DOS, send in the P3 paperwork again. It gets lost on random occasions (Nik+Heather, was that you?). But mostly it's just sitting. waiting, waiting, to get logged. They HATED us at DOS after a while; I was one of the biyotches that popularised the constant DOS calling. It is teh suck, I know (and I was a DCF b!tch as well, so hate me) but getting through all of this will seem nothing once your partner is here.

Maven's prescription: GIN. Much. Lots and lots of gin. :)

I agree with Maven, wait it out for a few weeks and dont fret over it for a while, check the status and if there's no progression send in the P3 paperwork again. I know there was a few others around the same time as well as myself, that found the black hole of the Embassy where paperwork disappeared. I had to send in my P3 multiple times (twice for mail strikes making it vanish and several others that never got inputted into the system, until hubby got his congresswoman involved to track the P3 with the honcho's over at the Embassy) over a lot longer period of time than the guesstimate the OP was given.

I tried to enjoy those 3-4 weeks after sending off the duplicate paperwork in between checking in with the embassy (well more like harass) and got told if I didn't hear back within 6-8 weeks to resend the paperwork. In hindsight I'm actually glad it took longer because I could tie up loose ends much more thoroughly, spend a lot of time with my parents, brothers and grandparents (my Granddad died of cancer just 4 months after our wedding) and Paul got to meet more of my extended family and bond with my parents on several visits before we finally got the visa. So seriously, take this time to spend with loved ones, get all your supporting docs in order and relax! when you're sitting at home with your SO with your green card in hand you'll breathe a sigh of relief and think to yourselves that it wasn't that bad and was all worth it in the end.
