6-8 weeks to review one's case?

Does NVC takes a minimum of 6 weeks and maximum of 8 weeks of waiting after submitting all forms and documents including RFE? before a case completes? I called NVC to check if my RFE submitted was already in their system and as per AVR says 'give us 6=8 weeks to review your case' I wonder if that time of processing is applicable to all cases or are their some other petition cases that didn't take that much time of waiting before completing their case. i hope someone or many in here didn't wait for that longest time...

That is their standard reply to any and everything. Best to call and speak to an operator to get a better idea of what is going on with your case. Good luck!

Yes, this is true. NVC received my RFE documents on May 26th per USPS. Entered them into the system on 6/8 per NVC. Kept calling referring to the typical (10) days timeframe and was consistently told to call back in (4) weeks. In mid-July, I called and had a great CSR on the phone who agreed that my processing as taking along time and forwarded it for supvr review. After a week, I called back and they kept saying that it will take about (8) wks now, which concerned me. I called back a couple of times the following week and was finally allowed to speak with a very nice supervisor.

I provided all my info and told her that it had been nearly (6) weeks already. She stated that there is a presidential initiative which has them slow down processing of CR-1 visas for spouses of US citizens to focus on visa cases tat have been sitting for years for others who are not spouses of US citizens. She informed me that it would be complete within (2) more weeks if everything is here but there is nothing anyone can do because this determination was made in Washington by the president. She was very nice and informative and I told her that I understood and how painful this process is for my wife and I.

That call was made on a Friday afternoon, 7/16. I tried signing in to the payment portal on Monday nightk, 7/19 and whalla.... Sign-In Failed... so I knew good news was to come. Called NVC and was told case was completed on the 19th and documents sent to Embassy in Nairobi. No interview date scheduled due to missing the August dates due to processing so am awaiting word right now.

Visa petitions will take significantly longer indefinitely per the supervisor and timing also involves the receipt of all applicable odcuments for this will delay you significantly everytime! Hope this helps!

yeah 6 to 8 is just the reply they give everyone. it doesn't really take that long normally.

it may take that long if there is a problem, or there is something strange about the case.

but normally most people don't wait that long.

after 6 to 8 though you can call and then they have to start moving on the case.

If you send the AOS and IV packages at around the same time - will the NVC operator tell you that one of them has been approved? Meaning do they approve them separately or together? If they approve separately then will it be possible to request status on each individual package ?
