I've been waiting for 11 weeks for an interview date!! My case was completed on May 11th! I haven't seen my husband in so long and don't have enough ties to visit him in the States.. because of work and money it's difficult for him to visit me here for any longer than a few days. How unfair that I've had to wait for months and months and this person receive an early August date with a simple phone call only 6 days after the case completion. Wow.. I am shocked and so heartbroken.

This person's husband (or fiance) is being deployed to a dangerous country. That is why they are getting an expedited interview.

When I was waiting for my interview, a lot of people got interviews before and at the same time as me when they're petitions were approved after me (sometimes months after). It was frustrating, but I was so happy that I finally got an interview that it didn't matter. I also ended up making a good friend out of it in the end (we had the same interview date).

No offense or anything Shewolf but I hardly think that approving an expedite request for my hubby who will be deploying to a dangerous country, where many many fellow service personnel have lost their limbs, or worse, lives and where HE runs a very large risk of losing his OWN life, is UNFAIR. What IS unfair is that my hubby puts his life on the line, day in and day out - not for glamour, not for the a big pay check but because he believes what he does makes a difference to other, less fortunate people's lives.

I know you're frustrated but it's HIGHLY offensive to me that you equate my hubby getting an expedite request approved, after he's been shot at, seen friends die RIGHT in front of him, to unfair.

Everyone else, thank you for all your good wishes and answers. Appreciate it.

Its been over 4 months since Ray and I have seen eachother, trust me, we ALL feel the pain of the separations we have to endure!

However, I don't think that just because you feel you cannot visit eachother is a reason for expedite!

Her husband is being deployed, that is a whole nother can of worms then just not visiting and they deserve the expedite.

Believe me, if it was just a matter of not visiting eachother for a few months then filing for expedite, I think every family here would be doing it!!!

I hope that your journey is not much longer. I understand whAt shewolf is feeling it is hard to have to wait so damn long, however things do work differently when your spouse is in the military. Think of it this way shewolf ( and no offense to sweetcheeks) sweet only gets limited time with her hubby even when she is finally at home with him, he will be deployed frequently. When you get to be at home with your hubby he will be at home with you every night. *however life is too damn short and we should all be with our loved ones and be forever happy. Also most my hubbys family is navy so I do get the expidite process. Ok said my piece.congrats again sweetcheeks
