What is kind of funny, is that Gary might be pro choice, which is great,but he also has a judgmental personal preference on abortion - no woman he impregnates can have one, he'll 'deal with it'.

Another problem with people debating with me is that they have to invent things I never said to argue with me. I put my opinion out there and people cannot deal with it or argue it logically, so make up something I didn't say and argue with that.

I am pro choice...on everything. If my wife were preganant it would be her choice if she had an abortion. I would assure her it was not necessary from my point of view and I am willing to accept responsibility. The choice would be hers. If I had a daughter, the same rules would apply. My WIFE would KNOW she HAS a choice. She can have a baby that would be properly cared for, loved and educated and have a good life, OR she could have an abortion.

For those that are about to ask...would I want my daughter to be a prostitute? Again, her choice. If I had a daughter she would be educated and I would pay for her education through a master's degree just like my four sons. She then would have a free CHOICE in life. Besides, what restrictions a family places on its own members...including abortion, is NOT the same as the government FORCING that choice on all people. I am all about choice, I am all about giving those I care for CHOICE.

Ummmm, I thought this was a thread about whether Six (and I) should continue to be friends with men we know who use prostitutes? Why are we suddenly talking about abortion?

The fact that you capitalise the word for emphasis seems somewhat ironic as it seems to me you don'treally understand what choice actually is. Where you're falling down here is in the assumption that women go into prostitution as part of a reasonable, conscious choice. I'm sure some do, but many clearly do not. Seems to me that saying that it is all a matter of choice trivialises the reality of what is a very murky and complicated issue.

In point of fact I think prostitution should be legalised and subject to regulatory oversight of some sort, if only to ensure a safe environment for the women who do it. That doesn't mean that I have to like the men who use those services - IMO they are losers and low-life scumbags.

It is not a discussion about who you choose to be friends with. It is your choice. Be friends with who you want, for whatever reason you want or don't want. I do not care. I couldn't possibly care less, as a matter of fact. I am about CHOICE.

The OP insinuated that people that use prostitutes (and I presume prostitutes themselves) are "lowlifes". I make no such judgements which is why I have not responded to anyone who said they would not choose a mate or a friend on that basis, that is your choice.

I was also not talking about 15 year old girls and there is no reason to bring that into the conversation. !5 year old girls should not drive a car, it does not mean adult woemn should not drive a car. 15 year old prostitutes are illegal and should be, they are not adults and not able to make choices.

Again, why does anyone have to twist my positions to make an argument? It is not about what children do, it is not about who you choose for friends, it is about adults making choices. Either you trust adults to make the best choices for themselves or you don't. I do.

No, I never said that either. No one, and especially not the government, should FORCE things on people. Exactly what problem do you have with adults making CHOICES? How is threatening someone else with physical violence related to someone choosing to be a prostitute?

Please, if you cannot argue my position on the matter, then make your silly arguments with someone else

On the bolded - it is clearly that. I know - it was my OP

You see it as adults making choices because you refuse to engage with the moral/ethical aspects of prostitution, in other words your position on this subject is fundamentally amoral.

Furthermore, you do not seem to accept the possibility that in a lot of these transactions "choice" might not actually be involved; or that it might be decidedly one-sided.
