Guys who use prostitutes

Interesting thread. I don't think I could share in Madhouse's indignation because I have friends who do things a lot worse than see prostitutes. I have friends who are here illegally, who commit tax fraud on a regular basis, who are fast food franchise owners and pay their people below minimum wage under the table, who beat their wives, who steal expensive enterprise software, etc. I haven't cut anyone off, I don't think I'd cut someone off for this either.

Really? Wow. I must be a very judgemental person because I could never be friends with people like that. I like my friends to show respect and empathy.

Call me judgemental, but if I found out that a man I was dating, married to, or about to date, used prostitutes then he'd be out of the door.

As previously mentioned, his chances of carrying a sexually transmitted disease are higher than a normal person's. Wrap it up with a bow and sugar coat it all you will, but this really is the truth.

Some prostitutes do take care of their sexual health, I'm sure, but the majority probably don't. And many men are not as insistent on a condom as they should be.

Part of me also feels that, if the relationship a man has with his wife is good, then he shouldn't seek it elsewhere, especially with a prostitute. There is something fundamentally wrong there.

I sort of agree here.

I am certainly not the type of guy that would use a prostitute..no tthat I have not thought about in the past ....but because I would be so scared of legal consequences, diseases, approaching the prositute etc...just calll me chicken shite.

I am glad I never indulged and have no need to do so now.

With that said..

I would like to point out in somw countries such as Phillipines many Bar Girls have been known to sell themsleves to guys temporarily. Again this is just what I have heard or been told by my Filipina fiends some of who were Bar girls.

When I met Josephine I always thought about it but when we had the discussion about our pasts it never came up because she never was but I was prepared to accept that as her past and not her future.

So I may have missed the point of the big discussion but I wanted to add that some countries although not neccessarily legal or was legal use Prostituion to earn a living. It is a shame they have to but I wouldnt make it a morally wrong decision on their part.

I also agree in many countries women and girls(children are forced/coerced into the prostition and this must stop.

Sorry if I got off point

My strange "friend" aside, I certainly don't understand why a married guy with kids would do it, unless of course, the marriage is somehow unsatisfactory. That's what it would indicate to me.

I had a good female friend in college who started making money in exchange for sex while we were friends. We started college together freshman year, and at some point she realized the older guys she met while clubbing would pay her to have the sex she was having with them anyway. She started accepting the money, to my knowledge she did this for a few years until she got a regular boyfriend and then stopped.

She's an attorney today.

His (my friend's) justification is that he's not attracted physically to his wife anymore, even though he claims to love her. They have always had a weird relationship. She's bipolar, and when she was untreated and having manic episodes, she would walk down to Shepherd's Bush Green and pick up men there, then go f^ck them wherever she could find somewhere even semi-secluded. This is while she was still dating my friend. She did it one time while I was at a dinner party at their flat -- she walked out before pudding and returned an hour later, her hair full of leaves.

I know this all sounds crazy, but I swear to god it's true. I can't even believe it while I'm typing it.blink.gif

Sorry this one is hard to believe and if it is true they havent been owners for long nor will they be for long. (The emboldened)

There is no reputable Franchise out there that would allow this to happen.

With the auditing that the franchisor must do to ensure franchisees maintain not only company Systems, Procedures and Recipes they must ensure the Brand is safe guarded against liability or legal suits casued by a franchisee illegal actions.

BTW this is part of what I do for a living.

Now with that said they may own a company or maybe ( i say this with pause) own a frnachise is a newly formed franchise or a very small local franchise. But as I said I state this lightly because the Franchisor can becaome as liable as the franchisee.

I do agree with you that friendship tends to be like family when a true friend does something we are against we may voice our opinions and not partake but they are still considerd a friend.

Subways and Dunkin Donuts. It's true.

eta: the people being paid under the table are family members and family friends, many of them recent entrants to america (employment ineligible student visas are common). they're not about to sue, theyre being done a favor and the family "back home" will kick their butts if they do.

As I stated hard to believe.

especially brands your are naming.

there are alot of owners who are of different nationalities and will help family I agree but these Brands are to large to allow this to happen. What the franchisee may not understand thatis in the franchise aggreement that criminal acts or behaivor can allow the franchisor to take action to remove the franchisee in the matter of days.

This could be a company buy out if they are lucky, forced to sell with in a time frame or to a designated group of purchasors, or a forced closing of the business.

I know you're all for choice and all, but I've yet to be convinced that prostitution is a matter of choice, when for a lot of women it clearly isn't.

+1

Yes, I wonder if those 15 year old prostitutes forced into the game are so informed as to make the "choice" you speak of.

What has the 'govmint' got to do with a personal opinion on what is and is not ethical and moral?

Oh Cleo, didn't you know that in this Brave New World the govmint has a hold on every one of our personal opinions? They're monitoring this thread right now.

More than that, the question here was never should prostitution be illegal, but rather whether using them amounts to a serious character defect.
