It's not an original thought. I cannot claim to be bringing a new revelation to this.

Some women are more personable and amusing in the hours or minutes (If he is Yorkshire) between sex and they are to be preferred.

Why do you make out like this is an abherrent thought that is so unusual ?

Have you heard women when they are drunk and together ? They are far worse than men when it comes to thinking less than complimentary thoughts about the other gender.

If you don't know that, you need to hang up your keyboard and get out to some wine bars.

Oh, I know, there's a whole talkshows dedicated to that division of people along gender lines in this way so it is not 'unusual' even if it is a fundamentally flawed and a marginal opinion. None the less it is abhorrent because that is an abhorrent way to look at people - neither gender has a monopoly on what is to be valued about humanity. I don't hang out with people who only think one gender is good and the other bad - one to be used the other to be friends with, one gender to abuse and the other to discuss that abuse - and I have no intention of seeking them out.

hmmm...I think using prostitutes is ok if you're not in a relationship. I also think its ok when you're in a relationship if it's something both people have discussed and decide to do it together. If you're doing it behind someone's back then it's a bad idea.

Wow, I just read most of this thread. Some good posts, but also some of the most ridiculous things I have ever read (like comparing prostitution to child abuse. You should have your head examined.).

Talk about overreacting? You want to end a friendship because the guy sees prostitutes. What business of your is it what he does behind closed doors? On second thought, end the friendship, you'll be doing him a favor. I wouldn't want a judgemental friend like you anyway.

I want to comment on a few things that were brought up in the thread:

low moral character-who says that people who frequent prostitutes are somehow morally corrupt?

legality- the majority of the world is not as the US in terms of this. We are one of the only countries where it is outright illegal. In most countries, it's legal or allowed (even if technically illegal). In the US, we have a bunch of self-righteous fake do-gooders. These people are one way in public, and thne totally different whne the cameras aren't on. They do a lot worse things than any guy who visits hookers.

trafficking- it does exist (i won't deny it), but people associated it to prostitution right away like every prostitute is forced into it. Some people (usually women) can't accept the fact that somebody would actually choose to do this instead of working in a horrible job 40 hours a week for peanuts. And even less would even comprehend the idea that women may actually enjoy having sex a lot or with many guys. To each his own.

cleanliness- most (not all, but most) prostitutes require condoms because they care about their own health as much as the clients.

Guys don't pay for sex, they pay them to leave so they don't have to listen to their bullshit.

I didn't realise that anyone was making individual judgements on why women become prostitutes. That wasn't the point at all.

some here have said they do it for the money only (desperate for money). i know a portion of them do it because they like it. a good looking hooker is not desperate for money! in the US, the ugly ones seem to do pretty good as well.

it is difficult to say why they do it, because there are hookers in every part of the world. for each corner of the world, there are different primary reasons for hooking. why a college sophomore does it while at berkeley is completely different than a hooker in thailand, russian, france, spain, india, etc.

look at all the young hotties in the US in the porn industry? why do they do it? porn isn't much different than hooking .... basically hooking on screen.
