I agree with Lansbury - your two questions seem to be conflicting. Why are you proud and where else would you live - they don't go together.

Anyhow, I am proud to be a US Citizen because of freedom and independence.

It is comforting to know things that you can do things like take classes to further your education - change career paths later on into your career - or even work on starting a new business while living in America.

Some other countries such as India it is harder. You have to pick a career path and education path from the beginning from High School - and if you want to change subjects or fields it is very hard to do so.

So while my points are business/employment/job related, it is one area that I am proud and happy about.

Lets hear it!!!!

Im proud to be a U.S. citizen! i love the U.S. and everything that it has to offer. If i could be a citizen of another country...i would say Canada because it is similar to the U.S.

Anyone else!?

Leahandlucas...What an interesting topic question...:) Lol..So what's your answer...Why are you proud to be a US Citizen?

Everyone.....

As for my answer as for why I am proud to be a citizen of the USA....

I love being a citizen of the USA too! :star::)

I love it more so that I am here with my family...It's a country where I belong in and a country that I call 'home'...

I love the American attitudes about freedom, democracy, free speech, patriotism, free elementary education, etc....

I love the vast geographical sites and places that are here in the USA....(sings...America the beautiful...)

I love the American flag...The stars and stripes are really cool!....

I'm sure I can think of more reasons why I love the USA....but it would be a pretty long post....

I love the USA...What else can I say...

I do though love being a citizen of Canada too.

As yes, they are similar to the USA in many ways (but is different in ways as well)...

It's a country that holds a special meaning, as this is where I have grown up in and what I used to call 'home'....

And I love the similar attitudes and geographical aspects about Canada too....(sings...Maple leaf forever...)

Likewise, I can think of more reasons why I love Canada...but it would be a pretty long post..(lol..maybe this one is better off tackled in the 'Canada' forum on VJ....)

I do visit Canada pretty often...And I still have ties to such a country, despite being a US citizen....

Which is why I am proud to be both an American citizen and a Canadian citizen...:star:

Nevertheless, I still think both countries can do better in certain aspects...But there is always room for improvement....

Lol...Anyone want to improve the USCIS and the DHS?......Sigh......

Ant

P.S. If I had to choose another country to live in be a citizen of...I would choose England/UK.....As likewise they have similar ideals too...(and yeah, I gotta love those accents too...lol...)

P.P.S. There is another country that I don't want to be a citizen of...That is my 'other birth country'.....I'm not proud of that country at all...And am looking into steps to renounce such ties...Sigh...That's another story.....
