I going to apply for the CR-1 Spouse Visa so that me and my sweetheart Khan from Thailand can be together. I have filed bankrupsy two years ago. I now have a good steady job in Resort Management. I also am working to a resolution with IRS on back taxes that are owed from a tax audit over two years ago. Will this have any effect on their decision for approva.

you should be okay as long as you are making arrangements with IRS for settlement of the debt and that you are making the allotted amount for income.

It may have an impact on the income requirement. There was a member here that did have IRS problems that impacted the I-864. Do you have enough income to meet the requirements and an arrangment with the IRS to pay back the taxes? Make sure you are keeping records of your taxes as this will likely be needed in the future

Good luck

By the time you submit the support docs you should have had time to have a resolution to the tax situation. Taking action based on the demands of the IRS would be the first step. You should ask the V J member " daboys" for advise in the matter as he has direct experiance. Keep in mind that BKK is unique in its actions. All members want you to succeed but in some areas of the process BKK doesnt react like other embassies & you should prepare your case around that fact.
