The Romans introduced snails to Britain coz they liked to eat em coz that's the beastly sort of thing that Johnny foreigner does.

When I used to come back from the pub I would walk along my drive and crunch crunch along the snails. They were everywhere. Putting out snail killer just attracted thousands from all over the estate.

Here in the USA they haven't been invaded by people speaking a Latin based language (haha !)so they don't have all the snails.

I just realised that not having them is something I can put on the 'advantages ' list

I did see a green slug near Seattle but that's it

I've seen a load of nasty fat looking slugs! Sometimes the little ones get into my kitchen somehow after it rains, I think there's a tiny gap under the patio door they've been squashing under or something

Luckily so far I've been first to find them cause Miles would prolly try to eat it or something. Ewww.

Slugs are ok coz they don't make that crunching sound and they soon were off the tyres/tires/tyass

But snails are so pathetic as they flail about in the remains of their little house

The realtors and city rating people should mention the snail index coz I don't want em again

I didn't see any in Florida actually though I am sure there must be some.

Praps its the balance of nature that was thrown out in the UK as there are insufficient predators to combat these shellbacks who entered the country without a visa and were assisted by people speaking a latin language who brought their old habits in instead of adapting to the local culture

My theories fail ? Swirling head at such an impossible concept.

The romans were quite a civilizing influence actually - the brought us crucifixion as a method of execution although this is only now practiced in Mississippi and Utah.

Queen Boadicea was a red head and they did try to wipe out her entire family which again would have been a civilizing influence

Oh my God, you've just made me realise that I haven't seen a snail in about... I don't even remember.

Also, I do not miss European House Spiders. You know, the species called Gigantia or something.

I can't believe no one else has snails, I can't get out the house in the morning without crunching a few on the sidewalks, and I hate doing it, I try my very best not to
