Hi -- We made it to the NOA2 -- A P P R O V E D ! ! !

Now on to the NVC and the Embassy!

Fátima in the UK wants to travel to see me here in September, with the interview in London probably in October.

Is there any risk for her to travel to the U.S. during this waiting period, i.e. would she be refused entry into the U.S. for any reason?

Thanks for your help,

Doug B

There is always a risk. I know women who were on the pill and the guy used you know what and they still got pregnant. If you want a probability calculation, that was my least favorite class in college . . .

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

To Just Bob: It would have been better if you had just kept quiet. Honestly this is a forum where people will come for such questions and stuff. Dont like it. Dont read it and log out. Have some respect. And sometimes sense of humour is totally a turn off ;)

After reading similar topics about this I had worked myself up to thinking for sure I was going to be denied when I went to go visit my fiancee. I am a stay at home mom and I live with my grandparents. I didn't have any ties back to Canada and they were going to send me back at the boarder.

I was surprised when I got there the customs officer asked the usual why are you coming. To visit my fiancee. What do you do back home? Im a stay at home mom. How long are you staying. A few weeks. Okay have a good trip. I was totally shocked! I got through and I had worked myself up for nothing...

I think it all depends on the boarder guard that you get. But to be safe if you have ties to your home country such as letter from an employer stating when they are expected to return to work, a lease etc I think it would be good to have in case they ask for it.

Hi

I'm new here, but will be going the K1 route as soon as my girlfriend and I are divorced from our respective marriages.

We've been an item since Jan this year and I've come out to NJ 3 times since Feb.

I stayed for 5 weeks in Feb, then 3 weeks in May to June and am currently back here from mid July to 8th Sept, basically two months.

I was sent to secondary inspection where my luggage was searched and more questions asked on my latest visit. Eventually I was allowed through.

I realise I have spent about 4 months in and 4 months out of the country this year, but I still aim to come back for a few weeks over Xmas.

I have no ties back in France (where I live, I'm actually English & Australian), so it really does depend on the officer at POE as to how they treat you.

That was a scary experience though, especially when he put the rubber gloves on!!!

Ok, I've been out a lot, but that should make it very easy to prove we have a real relationship going on. Each time, I've been honest as to my visit here.

Roll on when approval is made and I can marry her and be with her for good!
