The number to call is 1-800-829-1040. It is an automated line, I got mine in less than two weeks when I ordered them. It was pretty simple and they were free.

You can call 1800-829-1040 to request transcripts for the past 3 years free of charge. You can also fill out and fax or mail form 4506-T (http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf). It take around 7 to 10 business days to get the transcripts.

I suggest to call the number because it is faster. I paper filed the form and it took 3 weeks (15 business days as they said) to process my request, while I got the one that I request on phone in 1 week or so.

if you want them faster , talk to customer service and they can fax them same day

My mom intends on being a co-sponser, I need to know if the tax transcripts are joint with my dad, does my dad also have to fill out an I-864 - Affidavit of Support?

I have read several threads on this subject and the majority of them state that the dad would not have to fill out an I-864 and that the mom would have to provide W2 to verify her income in comparison to the tax transcripts. Anyone else agree with these other threads. thank you.

Is your mom's income alone - without your dad's income - sufficient to sponsor you?

I'd be hesitant, but maybe it's true. The worst that could happen is that you'll get an RFE for the I-864A, I think.

Yes my mom's income is more than sufficient for the poverty line requirements, that is why I don't think it is necessary for my dad to complete the I-864 accoridng to the other threads.
