My father is applying for AOS but he has been arrested a couple years back over a dispute on a restaurant bill. He paid the fine and was released shortly after. I'm not sure exactly on what grounds they arrested my father, however, he has no letter or documents relating to this incident.

My lawyer says that I need a Court Disposition letter, how can my father obtain a copy of it after all these years.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You should start by contacting the police department that arrested him.

Did he pay the "fine" at the police station, or at the court house? If he paid it at the police station then it may have been a bail rather than a fine. Depending on the charge, if you don't go to court after paying the bail then you are convicted "by default", and the bail is forfeited. This wouldn't mean he's in any trouble now. It would just mean he has a conviction without actually having gone to court. Anyway, if the police department has a record of the arrest then they would be able to tell you which court would have his record.
