Only a moron would draw such a conclusion based on this.

no, only a moron would claim white privilege when clearly this story disproves it exists.

Wrong. Unless you don't think people should be held responsible for their actions.

Someone in a position of power states that in a previous position of power, they made decisions based on race, to affect how they'd use their power to execute their professional responsibilities. The agency that now employs her has an obligation to remove her from a position where should could potentially behave in a similar fashion.

If an elementary school teacher came out and admitted that they'd molested a 4-year-old, but it was 24 years ago, would you argue that they should keep their job teaching kindergarten? Why not?

That's an ridiculously extreme example

What sort of society do you want to live in where a person isn't able to admit to a mistake without being tarred and feathered for it? I'd say look very closely at this story and then look at the politicians that you have in the US. If you believe that, I'd say you well deserve them.

If people cannot admit their own past mistakes for fear of being crucified for them in the news media, then they might as well be crooks.

Well irrelevant in being able to recognize it as likely more hype than reality... relevant in being able to perhaps identify the perpetrators of yet another partisan story.

oh yes, a story like this can only be partisan.

The media is simply giving a lot of people exactly what they want.

One story, one instance, one anything does not disprove a historical effect. Log on with your stats textbook next time. :P

Let's see if I understand what some people are saying here.

USDA has an obligation to fire this black woman because "she did enough", in a former job at a different organization, as opposed to everything possible, in order, successfully, to help some white guy save his family farm.

I don't know how to break it to you, but "doing enough" to get a job done successfully is generally considered wise use of an organizations resources. (And it transpires that in this case "enough" was quite a lot of work.) One wants to do only what is necessary to get a job done satisfactorily and not waste time or money doing more than is needed.

But when the successful woman is black, and a white racist demagogues her remarks, lots here mindlessly say "Yeah, that's the way it should be."

Yep. More fuel for the anger that Snickers bars can't satisfy.

Seriously? Wow, just, wow. I guess that really is how you simpletons work these things out, one woman 24 years ago working for some non - profit (one has to assume charitable organization) where she did have some influence over the distribution of charitable resources somehow translates as black people have always been in positions of power and influence the day segregation ended and all the problems that black people faced since then, and including today are as a result of their own inadequacy. Brilliant.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Why bother, honestly. You know what he'll say: he didn't say it, there is no such thing as an implied meaning from his words. etc. etc.

Not in the least. No dismissal, as I quite clearly stated a position on how racism should not be tolerated, but when context hits the fan, there's no need to duck for cover.

Who reported it is likely, though perhaps not necessarily, the instigator and perpetrator of the edited footage. Nothing new from FNC, to be honest.

Chuck, I don't have all day to go in circles with you as you ignore the whole story and things you are already aware of.
