The reaction to the correction has been in inverse proportion to the hoo-ha raised when the initial report came out. Am I surprised? No. Twas ever thus.

I was thinking last night as I listened to a radio report on this that Tom Vilsack looks like a major douche, and wouldn't it be funny if the actual target of this smear job was not a lowly USDA official but the administration as a whole? The knee-jerk reaction is pretty embarrassing, and just feeds into any number of Republican critiques of the White House being out of control and inexperienced.

Yep. Obama will have to do some damage control certainly, but wouldn't it be hilarious, knowing full well that the obstructionist brigade is already very likely searching for the next hyped up scandal to 'expose'- that this will end up costing 'conservatives' (broad brush there) more political points in the fall and perhaps even as far as 2012. Although given the speedy reaching at having a forgetful electorate, who knows what will happen.

All in all, the person who will come out winning out of all of this is the person that was used to smear Democrats and the NAACP. She will likely get a good book deal out of this, to the chagrin of the buttwipes that have just given her more reason to show the power of learning about treating people equally given a past history of victimization and being quite disadvantaged. Of course they will try to attribute this to neutral hard work as they seek someone else to attack in their mission of intolerance. Anyway, that's mostly my opinion.

i'm not reading 17 pages of the usual BS. has anyone mentioned that the obama administration 'acted stupidly' again? after all the call to fire the lady came from the administration. you'd think by now, they would check things out before 'acting stupidly'.

One more note, the WH asked for her resignation the day BEFORE Fox even mentioned it for the first time. So the only people that jumped to conclusions and over-reacted was the Obama administration.
