I watched news, read the transcript, etc finally earlier tonight. I didn't know much about it because I haven't watched news the past couple days nor read much news(which makes a happier state of mind, I must say). So after reading and listening, I feel bad that Sherrod had to go through all this and lost her job over this nonsense! I know they offered her something again, but sheesh.

I was very poor growing up and my mom never once said anything about rich ppl being bad. The only thing I got from being poor was that I wasnt gonna be poor when I got older.

This woman realized the same with black and white but her programming still led her to come to the conclusion was because of rich and poor. Why the hec to some folks limit themselves based on political rhetoric? They enslave themselves based on politicians saying they dont have a chance.

She was helping farmers who were losing their farms, and realized people who need help need help no matter what color their skin is. And that is a good realization to have. Obviously she didn't let anything keep her down, since she's made it pretty far in life so far and had gotten an important job.

The reaction to the correction has been in inverse proportion to the hoo-ha raised when the initial report came out. Am I surprised? No. Twas ever thus.

I was thinking last night as I listened to a radio report on this that Tom Vilsack looks like a major douche, and wouldn't it be funny if the actual target of this smear job was not a lowly USDA official but the administration as a whole? The knee-jerk reaction is pretty embarrassing, and just feeds into any number of Republican critiques of the White House being out of control and inexperienced.

As anyone thought about all this racial divide going on? When Obama won the election and was inaugurated the libs were all happy and the world became a brighter and more happy place for them.
