So?

A little different from, say, a lynching. Although to some I am sure that's also doing 'the job.'

So she discriminated, plain and simple.

Bringing lynching into this, classy.

Discrimination would imply she would have not served the farmer. Attitude and preconceptions based on her own issues, perhaps? Yes. Check out his public views on the matter. Its available, and he says the position you're claiming is hogwash.

And yes... there is a clear contextual difference between historical racism in all its forms, and the hyperbole of this silly story whose only real drive is to score political gotcha points against blacks in the Democratic party. Real silly stuff.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

You can read the transcript for yourself. This woman who works for the USDA admitted to being prejudiced 24 years ago in her handling of a case (when she wasn't working for the government) that involved a white farmer - then when she actually got involved in his case she realised that she was living under false assumptions. Apparently this is justification enough to lose her "current" job a quarter of a century later.

You know perfectly well that racism allegations does not carry the same weight in most other countries around the world. There are more important things to focus on than cry like a child about being called a name.

Regardless of her race, what she did was wrong. What you and and a certain f-ckhead who has come back seem to deny is that racist comments and racist actions are treated differently depending on the color of someone's skin. Hmmm what does that sound like?... Hint: Starts with R and ends with m.

PS. Lest we forget, had this person been white, even 40 years would not have mattered.

Real silly stuff.

Unlike Chicago's knuckle-dragging third world-esque homicide rate of course.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

So it would have been better for her to keep her mouth shut as do other racists with more years of experience in said matter.

Again, up ahead there is a certain operative word... 'imply'

Did you see the farmer's interview on AC?

So much left wing excuse making! We all see it. Carry-on. Selective compassion is so amusing to watch.

True. My BJ comment is known as 'hyperbole'- something akin to the logic being used to equate forms of racism [and discrimination] which do not pare well when put up to the argument of history. At this point I probably wouldn't have asked her to resign from her current position, particularly in light of the actual context which has been regurgitated here several times. But certainly at that past time, she should have gotten the boot for speaking her mind in that way.

BY, the woman herself admitted that what she did 24 years ago was based on false preconceptions she had at the time. Yes, she clearly admits that she treated the white farmer differently because he was white and because she thought that whites would look after their own. Yes that is clearly racial prejudice, racism whatever you want to call it.

What she also said, and what noone seems interested in - hence 14 pages of "well it's not racist if you're black" (even AFTER the full transcript of the comments was posted) is that she recognised people didn't necessarily help their "own kind" and that her opinion had been insular and prejudiced. Now apparently after 24 years (even after she helped the farmers and obtained their gratitude) she should be fired from her current job for it. It's nucking futs is what it is.

Feel free to read the transcript in the other thread (or where i reposted it in this one), or equally feel free to ignore it and indulge in a demagogic rant about how black people have it so much better than white people.

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that some people don't apply context because they literally can't see it.

The Obama admin does come off badly in this story, they preemptively sacked an employee based on political correctness of the 'we can't be seen to be doing the right thing if the right thing puts us in a bad light' variety. Terrible, and a woman loses a job and much else besides because of it.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

It has to be. So far we've had people ignore the thread because they won't admit to being wrong, to tossing the story aside and going off on a general rant about how black people have it so good.

I agree with you on the Obama administration - now I hear they are reconsidering the sacking...
