Wow almost done,,, but now the trip home. Avianca or America Air will not sell a one way ticket for Vanessa because she is not an American citizen. Do I need to buy her a round trip ticket??? She has a CR-1 visa, can I buy her a one way ticket(i'm using my miles, I do not have enough for a round trip, just one way),, please help. I called NVC but they cant help.

Did you tell them she has a CR-1 Visa and is authorized to move to the US by the US Government with residency status?

Thanks!

Yes, I used the magic of following the directions of the folks on this board who wrote up some really great guides. :)

That and I checked twice that that every "t" was crossed and every "i" was dotted on each form and that every form was included (along with some photos from our six year relationship and wedding), translated documents (so that they wouldn't have to get the documents translated, which takes up time) and all the correct number of copies of everything.

I asked the IV Unit in Bogota about the K-3K-4 process this morning. Please see response. It is not obselete...

Dear Jeremy,

"K3/K4 visas are still available. However, the petition for them (I-129F) must be filed in conjunction with an I-130 for the CR1/IR1 visa. The CR1/IR1 visa is preferable because it automatically results in the issuance of a green card upon entry to the United States, where K3/K4 visa holders must adjust status.

Regards,

IV Unit"

Umm.... Okay... Seriously, what's there for me (or anyone for that matter) to respond about? Why are you directing this at me?

The other question that I or anyone else would as kyou is is why would you waste time and money applying for a K3 visa when the CR1/IR1 is the much better deal finanically?

Have you tried booking online? A lot of people, myself included, have had success booking a one way flight via expedia, hotwire, travelocity, etc

Good luck

Probably because the airline miles points he's trying to use are airline specific... Just a thought.

And I'm sure that you'll do a great job, and quite possibly even better than I did (I did make one mistake on my affidavit of support later on in the process, I missed one field in the form which delayed things a few weeks <sigh>).

Thanks!

Mike
