What if you or Luis applied to graduate programs in the mainland US, like a PhD program? For Luis he could probably find one that would get his tuition paid with a teaching or research assistantship? Just spitballin'

I never thought of such possibility, I always figured you actually needed some money to even consider those. If we had some reserved money, some savings, I'd even say we'd risk using it to move to US and find a job before we ran out of money, just to show how hopeless things are here.

Btw, I love PR, it's beautiful, quiet, super safe, almost zero violence and all that, people with doors opened and kids playing in the street, which is a lot better than Brazil, but I think it's a good country to come and live after retirement, then there's TONS to enjoy, but for us, young couple starting life, both fresh out of college? It's pretty bad.

Do you have any friends in Florida/elsewhere you guys could stay with for a few months? It just can't be so hopeless...

Nah, and besides, we're too proud to accept anyway. :P I am a firm believer that things will come our way when the time is right. Or we may pursue them when the timing is right.

I didn't mean we're the type to sit on our asses and wait for things to happen, what I mean is that we need to wait for the right opportunity, we can't just get desperate and loose all hope. After all, luck is what you make of it.

PQP.
