Public transportation here is like an urban legend, you see the bus stops, you might even see a bus or two when you're driving your car, but apparently nobody ever knows when they come, where they go, or if anybody is actually driving them.

Really, in Luis's last semester in college his car broke down and he had to take a bus for a while, he said he had to leave 3 hours early 'cus the bus passed through his bus stop whenever it pleased, and that the cheaper bus (our famous van) would only leave to it's destination once it was packed full. He said he'd leave home when it was still dark and get to class late anyway. I rather stay home without a car when Luis doesn't leave the car with me, than venturing in the bus system in Puerto Rico.

About the CV, here in Puerto they follow the american CV, one page, in those little boxes that are a pain to format, and in English. Also, a lot of jobs do require a cover letter. Monster.com is a great job site, and not only you can make your CV there, and tips for cover letters, but it's actually a pretty good search tool.

About the language confusion. I almost had a huge fight once with Luis 'cus I couldn't help but laugh at his poor atempt to distinguish avô and avó. You know that famous phrase for gringos "Cair no poço não posso"? Works like a charm! I even felt stupid going Luis, look how different it is "ÔÔÔÔÔÔÔÔÔ" and "óóóóóóóóóóó", but it's funny how the brain won't follow. For him those two have exactly the same sound.

 yup yup. I can understand the difference when I hear him saying ''shi!t"' and ''sheet'' but when I try to pronounce he says it always sounds like 'shi!t'' So I gave up.

As for the CV I had mine already in 1 page in Brazil. I learned in college that was the way it's suppose to be blah blah blah, so I've been doing mine like that always.

As for the cover letter I saw in several websites today when I was doing a research about it that it's necessary and examples. Like Rey said, eu acho um pé no saco having to do that. But oh well...

As for the public transportation first when Charles said there was no such thing here I was like #######? Even in little towns that doesn't even have asfalto in Brazil they have public transportation, even in favelas lol, how come they don't have in there? But now that I'm here I can understand. The only bus I see is the school bus and I saw a military style bus I think for them military people at the base, but that was it.

Beijo a todas!

Meninas!!!

beijos a todas e bom domingo!!! Claris

Boa sorte! (F)
