Eu pensei em transferir meu título também, mas a mulher do consulado me disse que não vale a pena. Que porque o consulado é longe da minha casa, eu vou ter que justificar de qualquer modo, então que era melhor deixar como estava.

O pior é que eu acho que perdi o meu título na confusão da mudança!

Gente,

primeira coisa, vcs estão confundindo nacionalidade com cidadania. Vc pode se tornar cidadão de um país sem ter nascido nele.

Que eu saiba o Brasil não aceita dupla cidadania. Se vcs resolverem se naturalizar americanas (os) perdem a cidadania brasileira.

Eu tinha um colega de escola filho de diplomatas um pai brasileiro, mãe americana, ele nasceu na Costa Rica. Tinha tripla cidadania até os 18 anos, então teve de escolher uma das 3.

Qnto a votar, todo ano que tem eleição eles mudam as regras, então fica dificil saber o que fazer nas próximas. Sei que morando fora vcs só precisam votar pra presidente e governador (acho). Na última eleição dava pra justificar pelo correio, acho que é mais fácil do que mudar o título pro consulado mais próximo.

Alix, vc pode usar sua carteira de identidade ou qq outro documento com foto pra votar.

Legalmente realmente a gente perde a cidadania brasileira mas na prática só se você peticionar pro governo falando que virou americana e não quer mais ser brasileira é que eles procedem com a retirada da cidadania. Em pouquíssimos casos eles fazem isso por conta própria mas aí é só entrar com o pedido de reaquisição da cidadania, justificando porque pegou outra cidadania.

Que eu saiba não há limite não. Eu nem lembro quando foi a última vez que votei. Sempre justifico e minha situação é regular no TRE. Você pode inclusive verificar na página do TRE do seu Estado como está a sua situação. Eu fiz isso antes de renovar o passaporte.
