When it comes to making movies, Hollywood isn't Red or Blue, it's Green. If it makes money, they'll push it regardless of politics.

Because he's a celebrity, he's not allowed to be political or is it really because you disagree with with his views? What about Republican celebrities like Tom Selleck? Charleton Heston? I could respect your position more if you would balance out your outrage for both liberal and conservative celebs. I'm uncomfortable when celebrities use their status and popularity to get attention to their views, but then what if someone happes to be a celebrity who is also an activist? Bono from U2 has done great things for Africa and AIDS - his celebrity status opened doors towards the causes he cared for that wouldn't have been available otherwise. I think it's something we have to accept that celebs will have their opinions just like everyone - but no one's holding a gun to your head and forcing you to listen to them.

It's funny that you mention Green Day, but not any of the numerous country musicians and their politically charged lyrics. Charles, I just hope you see the lopsidedness in yours, incanada and Desert Fox's distaste for 'Hollywood' budding it's nose into politics but none of you mention the conservative celebrities. My hunch is that you're all really just upset over their liberal views and not because they are celebrities.

after all, everyone here on VJ knows that chuckie is the be all and end all of political news and views, and no one else could possibly have an opinion.

After all, chuckie is like a clerk or secretary in the army in kansas or something, which makes him much more qualified to speak about politics than some movie star in hollywood being paid millions of dollars more than him, with poiliticians in their pocket, that chuckie would never even be allowed to see, let alone talk to.

That's precisely the point I was making earlier. British police foiling a terror plot nonviolently has nothing to do with what a liberal celebrity or any other liberal dislikes in our government. The logic is weak, and it makes me a little worried that some people do not see the flaw in the moron author's argument.

Who cares if we are making our children "sissies"? Let's focus more on making them learn critical thinking skills at an early age, please?
