Received AOS I797 receipt notice but not in USCIS system?

We received our AOS receipt on 8/8, sent 8/4 but our receipt number is not in the USCIS computer! They've cashed our check already and sent us a computer generated receipt but online and over the phone they have no record of our AOS.

Hi, it takes them a couple of days to update the stuffs on uscis.gov. I didn't try calling them so I am not sure why they don't have a record of your AOS when you called them.

However, the NOA should suffice, no?

it takes them awhile sometimes to update the status in the computer. i remember getting the noa's in the mail and them cashing the check without any record in their website. wait about a week or two and see if it is there. as long as you have the noa's i think you'll be fine.

also, when you call the 1-800 number to inquire, i think they look at their computer system. naturally, if they haven't updated it then they'll say they don't have a record.

I would assume the same but we were pretty surprised that even they had no record of it considering it was a computer generated notice.

Also, we sent our AOS to chicago lockbox but the receipt number is an MSC number? Is this the Missouri service center?

This is even weirder, 5 minutes after writing this I went and checked the mail and we got our biometrics appointment letter in the mail. How this be??

guess their online system is slow as of late. In the past we were always immediately able to enter receipt numbers and see results online.

We were able to check are accounts right after with received the NOA's. Did you try adding them to your account or just tried to check them? All your numbers should start with MSC.

its weird, but it happens. our EAD & AOS weren't available online until the day i did my biometrics... about three weeks from NOA1. with k1, the minute i got my VSC number, it was there online... maybe they are swamped, or maybe they forgot to enter it until there was a change to the file. *shrugs*

i give up trying to figure out what goes on behind the scenes... i just sit back and hope that nothing gets screwed up.

We've completed our biometrics and we STILL CAN'T SEE our cases online at USCIS. All I get on all 3 NOAs is "Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system.. etc etc etc"
