I-864 Big tough questons

I have a bit of a tough situation. I have a good job right now and I'm well above the 125 percent poverty limit. Here's the thing, I have had this job for about 6 months, but last year had virtually no income. Originally, my mother (who also is well above that 125 percent mark), is a bit freaked out that she may be on the hook for my now wife, if I don't have a job and we get divorced, and she has no money. If my mother decided to back out. Will I still be able to qualify for the i-864? Will the visa be denied?

I'm really quite worried about this. Also how much is she really on the hook? I mean I know what it says on the paper, but my understanding is that first the court would go after me, but at which point do they go after her (if the worst were to happen). To be honest I have no concern about my wife doing this at all. I just don't know what to do as its not possible to go that direction since she can't seem to find a job.

Any thoughts, or advice, would be very greatly appreciated.

Cash in the bank trumps much silliness - can you amass at least 60K USD in the bank, by the time you have to submit the I-864 to NVC ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yeah, if that was possible, I would so not be worried about the i-864. So barring winning the lottery, 60k just isnt possible. I currently make roughly 39k per year. Also the last year that I show a half way decent income would be in 2008 but I was married at the time, to someone else. So again, the big question is, will I need a co sponsor? Or are they just going to go by current income?

And I'm still kinda wondering on how the agreement with the i864 works with multiple people, so any light that can be shed on that would be greatly appreciated.

Current income.

If more that one sponsor you are jointly on the hook.

Some consulates like to see 3 years tax returns. most do not.

Going forward the ability to sponsor is based on your current earnings.

So any idea what the london consulate wants to see? Or would i be better of asking in the uk forum?

I am out of date, check the UK forums, I think it is just one year now.
