This idea has strong appeal in many ways. However: [1] Aren't there enough small businesses in the country so that illegals could find & retain employment while remaining under the radar? [2] Seize property?! Isn't the Fourth Amendment on life support already?

It has been said that if there were the slightest hint that fewer than 60% of newly amnesthetized (new word) illegals would vote Democrat, Honest Obe would build a high-speed train to deport all of them not just to Mexico, but to Peru.

1. it would apply to small business also. small business would have the most to lose. Would YOU hire an illegal at the risk of losing your business if caught?

2. Property is routinely seized to pay taxes already. This is why I propose a TAX not a "fine". When it is understood that the penalty will be swift and severe, the practice of hiring illegals will STOP. You have to make it very EASY (don't hire illegals)to comply with the law and very HARD if you don't. When the risk outwieghs the benefit, the practice will STOP. Business law 101.

Fact is that probably fewer than 20% would even VOTE, but Democrats will gladly take 60% of the 20%, or 58%. That is plenty to win elections and take over congress and the white house.

Few things are easy - an exception to that is thinking that things are easy - that's very easy.

An employer who was fooled by false papers could not be found guilty (I assume you would not dispense with a prosecution in court), therefore a more secure id system would have to be invented and implemented - and that takes many years and at a vast cost

A significant % of the population does not have a driver's license and some States issued d/l's to illegals

Only a sophisticated and careful and considered response which includes compromises to practicality will address this issue - and easy options are not available

Driver's licenses are pretty sophisticated with their holograms etc and they are still being forged - what price a social security card - even one as 'secure' as a driver's license.

I think new words are deplorable, and if it were not for the French, the unpleasantness in 1776 would have blown over, the Queen's English would still be used and everyone would have free health care

GC's and Naturalization would be unnecessary as would double taxation - and UK/US flights would be domestic.

We could have president's question time every Thursday where people could hurl insults at him in person just like in Westminster.

Is it too late for both sides to see sense ?

Nah, we'd just be Canadian then lol.

There would be no need for Canadians. All the loyalists from East of Toronto could be compensated by the regional assembly previously known as the US Government and some would move back south to reclaim their stolen lands.

Naturally the Quebecoise would be allowed to form their own country called 'shivermetimbersland'

or even allowed to use 'Quebec' if they so vote.

The rest of Canada could be turned into a reservation for UK Pakistanis who could at last declare Sharia law in that area and live in security and peace. There would be no forced expatriation. It's all voluntary. People from India/Pakistan are known for their brilliance with maths and numbers and computers, so they would make great Casino operators.

Once this has been implemented, I would be eligible to be head of the executive as the 'natural born' requirement will cease

I like Canada too. I used it as a convenient knocking shop for many weekends when I couldn't come to the US during the visa process.

The area east from Toronto including Toronto would not be part of the reservation lands, so you could stay in Canada (North East British America) if you didn't like Sharia law.

Try it first. When I was in Saudi Arabia, shoplifting was TINY and they cut thieves hands off on telly at 6pm every night. That beats the celebrity channel any time !

Adulterers became peckerless if they were lucky, but that wasn't done on telly coz it would be rude and therefore immoral.

I think policies like that would appeal to many in Alabama/Mississippi/South Carolina so I would expect an exodus from those States to what was Western Canada

Yes I know Canadians know what it means coz when the Japanese lady at Toronto immigration asked me the purpose of my visit, I told her my bird was flying in from Milwaukee for the purpose of rampant rumpy pumpy and I wanted to use her country as a knocking shop - and she seemed to understand coz her lips curled with disgust (and envy)

I'm sure it was mostly envy. yes.gif

Thats where E-Verify comes in. Though I suppose that a stolen name and social might still get through this system if someone pretends to be a citizen.
