My fiance just ordered her birth certificate from http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

It said it will be 23.40 for 1 day priority service but at the moment it is showing the dispatch date to be 20th July!!!

Will it be much faster if she goes to the local office in luton and get it?

I can't say for sure because I've never done it but it seems to me like I've read that it is faster if you go to your local office. Mostly because your local office only has records for however many people live in that county, instead of records for everyone in all of England and Wales!

That's just my best guess though, perhaps someone else will come along with better information!

Good luck!
