This thread makes it hard for me not to reply (this is my first time posting as my husband is the one active here in vj) :D

before coming here in the US, my husband told me he really didn't expect me to do any household chores as i was used to having household help in Manila and he's used to doing everything here, even if he was raised with nannies and household help in the Philippines too.. but since i came here (which was 4 mos ago), i promised to do the best i can to take care of him..i cook, do the laundry and clean the house..not because he asks me to, but because it can get really boring since i don't have a job yet.. we are still applying for my AOS. after a couple of mos, i decided to do the ironing too when i learned how much it's costing him to take his pants and dress shirts to the cleaners..

as much as possible, i want everything done when he comes home so we can have quality time with each other..after dinner, we either watch our tv shows or maybe a movie before going to bed..sometimes, we would have a few drinks while we talk about how our day went..

but he makes it a point to have his share of the chores too...like cleaning the bathroom (which i hate), taking out the trash and maintaining our backyard..he would clean up after me whenever i cook..sometimes, we do laundry together too..

my friends back home was really surprised at how domesticated i've become but the truth is, i actually enjoy taking care of my man...his smile is priceless whenever he comes home to a good dinner and a clean house.

(but don't get me wrong, i can get really lazy sometimes..if i don't feel like doing anything when i wake up, i just surf the net all day and ask him to take me out to dinner when he comes home :P:lol: )
