Travel permit question

When applying for a travel permit, must the “date of intended departure” and “expected length of stay” be answered on the I-131?

She does not have travel in intentions at this time, but my fiancee’s mother is in poor health. Can we apply for the travel permit now, in the event that she would suddenly need to visit Brazil, or would we apply when we know travel is necessary and have the permit sent to the consulate in Brazil?

Apply with your AOS as it will take a month or to to get... that way you will have it just in case....

Just put any date in the future for intended date of travel and a couple of weeks for the duration... that way you are covered.... it will not be valid for just that period it will be valid for 1 year as far as I know...

The questions should be answered. 'to be determined' is an acceptable answer to both questions if you don't have anything more specific in mind.

I have an elderly parent with health problems as well, so I wrote "undetermined" at travel date, then in the statement they request saying why you want the Ap I explained about my father's health and that I needed to be able to travel on very short notice. I had no problems getting the AP quickly.

We put to be determined since we don't have specfic dates yet. We explained that Eliana's parents are elderly and want to be able to travel on short notice if needed
