we had our interview on a Thursday. They said they couldnt give us the visa back the next day that it had to be mailed. We got a msg on our vmail on Monday and checked the website and surprisingly it was updated with dhl information and it was already in Calgary! Good luck.

Been awhile since I checked in…hi everyone!

I sent just the actual checklist and DS-230 to Mtl on August 11, 2010…not documents (that's right isn't it?)

but no word back…a little surprised as others who filed after us and have already had their Mtl interviews!

Do you have a say on when you go to Montreal? Once approved for the visa, how long do you have to officially enter the US?

Hi folks,

Just a quick note for those taking the medical soon here in Canada. They have updated their immunization requirements and you will now need the flu vaccine for the medical. My husband found this out the other day and already got his. It sounds like it's required for everyone, but my husband who's 28 was told he needed it so it may just be for his age bracket.

Take care,

- Sam

Help please, please.

I 864, what address do I put in for me. I live here in Canada right now but I have a US address where we will live as soon as we can move once approved.

Also I have a US bank account. It's simple easy on line bankking. If I print out a copy of my most recent statement (this month) will that be sufficient to show assets??

I have other assets here in Canada and will bring those along too?? I know how much I have to show that is not the problem but do they accept on line statements that I printed??

I have insurance for apartment, gas and electric bills. Bank account and can prove I now own a business in the USA as well.

I have tax returns for the last 3 years as well.

I have marriage certificate, divorce papers, translations, birth certificates, police clearance, medical, passport.

How many copies???

More help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I have original appointment printout from computer saying it's confirmed. I have not gone to check it. It has DHL address etc.

I'm going to give you the list of what I have. Please Please can you tell if I am missing anything at all. I feel like I'm in paper hell.

I have the lease, insurance on apartment, most recent electric and gas bill all with either both our names or just my name.

2 copies plus original of:

marriage certificate

birth certifiates

divorce certificates (with translations) and 2 copies of the translations that I made

2 copies of 3 years of income tax returns even though it's al "0" as I didn't work, but it shows I filed, just in case, prepared by a CPA in Boston.

I have 4 pics of us each.

His police clearnance (no copies)

His medical

I do on line banking so I have checking account statement from here 2 copies I just got the most current.

I have 2 copies of US checking account statments. One is joint and just opened and one is solely in my name with enough to meet the 5x requirement. Also the most current ones only

I have 2 copies of retirement account plus originals. They are not from January as they are only issued quarterly so one is November and one is October from my husband and myself.

I have copies of stock certificates for the business I bought into in the US and a letter from the President stateing that I am a co-franchisee/owner and will be employed full time and expected to start work around Feb 1 - no extra copies, they can keep these.

I've saved hard for this. I will have to work at the business for the rest of my life pretty much.

Anything else???? I know I need the Aff of Support but aside from that anything else??

Thanks

as long as you comply what's in the check list you are good.

Plus All the other supporting documents under a major document, you have to bring them as well.

If you are petitioning a child and an spouse, make sure that you have I-184 for each applicant and each documents are of course separate.

No kids, just my husband.

Are just the current bank statements enough?? I have a copy of each statement I'm using for assets to qualify (mine and my husband) but I have the most current one almost up to the minute for some.

I think I'm all set. I did the I864 today.

We actually got chewed out alittle for bringing too much information, also my lovely lawyer made about 200 too many copies at about a dollar piece ofcourse.

However even as such if I had to do it again I would of still brought pretty much what I did, I suppose it could be different for everyone though they really didn't look at much except the consent letters for my step children.

Wow well I don't have too much info. I have what they ask for plus one copy to give them plus I have an extra copy of almost everything in case they want 2 but I won't hand it over unless they aks.

Otherwise I doubt I have too much???

I really just need to go home. I hope it will all go well.
