I'm sorry I'm not good at posting links. I just can't seem to do it.

But it says that basically they won't discuss it. If you go and read what people wrote and what is said about it, you will have a lot of info. I googled because I got worried what it was and I found it. I googled aministrative processing for us immigration or something like that.

Hi all,

We now have an interview date: 1st March. All that's left is medical and to wait!

A quick question: my police report from Australia has only a photocopied signature. In fact, the original copy I received looks very much like a photocopy. Should we be at all concerned? I can't think of anything we could do about it seeing as all Australian police reports are done in this way, but we want to make sure all our bases are thoroughly covered. Does anyone have any advice?

Ok still having problems with the joint sponsor thing and I need some help. I (USC) am wanting to be the only sponsor for my Canadian husband. However I have been in Canada for two years so have zero US income. My question is, if I get a job offer over the poverty line to support the two of us would that be sufficient for the I-864 for me to be the only sponsor. As it meets the requirement of US income? Yalls input would be greatly appreciated. Also anyone else who has not had a joint sponosor or done this this way please let me know what ya had in the way of documents, if it worked, etc.

Regarding your question American/Canadian, from what I saw, they do not look at what is expected in the future, or even how much you made in this current year (2010), they look at how much you made in 2009, as reported on the I-864 and backed up by tax papers. As I was in the same boat as you (American living and working in Canada for the passed few years), we prepared 3 versions of the I-864:

1- where I was the only sponsor

1- where I had a household sponsor, that is, someone who has the same address as the place I was *going* to move to. (prospective household member)

1- where I had a joint sponsor (the same person who was the household sponsor above).

At the interview, I presented my case, the officer immediately looked at my 2009 US income (0) and said, yup you need a sponsor. Upon presenting my 2 options (household vs joint), he said it would be easier and less headache to just go with Joint instead and took the joint papers.

I think thats what Im going to do but Im sooo freaking confused. I just found out my jt sponsor does live at the house where we are moving to....(with my step dad) and so now do we need to change everything from joint sponsor to her being a household member? Im going to prepare one with me as the only sponsor as well bc even though I had no income in the US I have filed my taxes in the us each year and put my canadian income in them. Also hoping with a job offer it will all work out ok. Also my husband and I will both be continuing work from the same company...dont know if that makes a difference or not.

I thought they were but my wife swears that the standard Canadian passport photos are 50 x 70 mm. If that's the case, is it going to be hard to find a place that takes other sized photos?

The size they ask for are the standard american passport photos. It is similar to the Canadian passport photo but not exactly the same. It shouldnt be hard to find somewhere to do US passport photos. Weve had them done at both superstore and Walmart and Ive also heard Costco does them. Good luck
